The meeting at Preston's closed for one week, but began again on Friday night preparatory to holding a quarterly meeting and also to elect trustees and a church committee. Their intentions is, if possible, to build a church of their own, that they as a body of Free Methodists, can have a house of their own to worship in. The candidates have been making things warm for the section the last two weeks but who is the lucky man will not even risk our opinion. There is but little stir about the town officers yet.  It is reported that John Camp will be a candidate for County Judge provided he should be the choice of his party.

Samuel Thompson a widower of Wabash County, was out in this locality on Sunday last, but preying eyes failed to find out who he was wanting to see.

Card of Thanks
Feb 16, 1886

We wish, through your paper, to tender our heartfelt thanks to our many kind friends for their untiring assistance during the long illness of our dear husband and father and our recent affliction, the occasion of his death. For each one, when your hour of trouble comes, as come to it will all, we can desire nothing more than has been accorded to us.
