P.M. Gen'l E.D. Powers lately appointed post master at Buffalo Prairie, about whom you had some caustic and appropriate criticisms, has absqualated, vamoosed the ranch, left the diggins between two days, for parts unknown, and the office has been take charge of by Sam'l Sloan. Moline - With the election of Miss Lou Harris to the position of county superintendent of schools, Rock Island county has its first woman in that position.
