Caroline Gray Hodges, and they moved from Tennessee to Illinois after the 1860 census.

Willis Stucker family of Southern IL --Stonefort
Posted by Phil Stucker on 3/5/2002, 5:42 pm
Willis Stucker(1789 KY) and wife Margaret(1787-KY) (Peggy) Storm came to Pope Co, in April 1817 with his in-laws
the Jacob Storm Family. They came from Clark/Jefferson Co, IN which has the city Madison, IN on the Ohio River.
Willis, who was sheriff, post master, justice of the peace in the 1850's, reared his family here. Some are still
here today. His grandfather, George Stucker, was a friend of Daniel Boone (a gift to him is still in the family
from Boone). He was killed(1780) by Shawnee under the infamous Simon Girddy of Canada in an attack on the area.
The three Stucker families lived at Bryant Station (Daniel Boone's sister). Willis of Stonefort's father was 14
then and had splinters of wood from the fence blown in his neck as he ran for cover. Seeking southern Illinois
descendant to join in with scores more now on two Myfamily.com pvt sites for research. So many now, it takes two

Marriage Information

Hello, I'm researching my family history and it seems that several are from Illinois. My Grandparents got married
in Illinois and unfortunately they have both passed on and I'm not sure what year they got married but would love
to find their marriage record. Does anyone know how I can do that. My grandparents:
Leslie Bufred Thompson b 4/27/1908 in Harrisburg
Mildred Asbell b 11/20/1913 in Harrisburg
My father was born 2/1/1937 in Harrisburg so I assume they married prior to 1937. My Dad is not good at dates and
stuff like that so he doesn't know.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Laurie

Leslie's parents were Charlie (Charles) Thompson (son of Armstead Thompson and Martha Harris) and Anna Lee Harrison
(daughter of Shadrick Harrison and Nancy Jones).
I do know that after Anna died in 1924 he was married a couple more times, but I don't know what his other wives
names were. So I cannot rule out your connection.
Charlie and Anna had 5 children: Essie b1903 d1995, Leslie b1908 d1994, Winnifred b1910 d2001, Ruby b1912 d1920
and Madolyn b1914 d1920
I don't know if he had any children with the other wives. My grandfather has passed and unfortunaly my father does
not remember much about his family at all. My Mom seems to know more than he does.
I do have a couple of photos of Charlie with a couple of his other wives I can scan and email you if you would
like....maybe you would recognize them.
Please write back.

My father-in-law was born in Kentucky in 1924, and the family moved to Illinois after that. The family was only
