  Topeka - Jessica Lynn Flick, infant daughter of Harold T. Jr. and Valerie A. Artman Flick of Topeka, was stillborn at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Pekin Hospital in Pekin.
  Surviving are her parents; her grandparents, Billie Flick of Topeka and Darrell and Robin Artman of Pekin; her great-grandmothers, Rose Bloomer of Pekin and Barbara Corbin of Washington; two sisters, Alexis Geiman and Shana Geiman, both of Topeka; and one brother, Edward Geiman of Pekin.
  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather and one infant sister.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. Terry Edele will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.

  Norma Foiles, 77, of East Peoria, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
  Born Oct. 9, 1923, near Mt. Sterling in Brown County to Ralph E. and Alta Hughes Bowman, she married Ernie Foiles on Sept. 15, 1940, in Canton, Mo.  He survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Ronnie (wife Carolyn) of Bartonville; one daughter, Connie (husband Stan) Rose of Morton; three brothers, Truman Bowman of Bartonville, John Bowman of Rushville, and Larry (wife Joyce) Bowman of Monmouth; one sister, Pauline Parsano of Rushville; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
  One brother preceded her in death.
  She was a homemaker.
  Services were Wednesday, July 18, at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
  Cremation was accorded after the services.
  Memorials may be made to Spring Bay Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

  VERMONT - F. Jerry Ford, 77, of Rural Route 2, died at 4:44 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at his home.
  Born April 10, 1921, in Oakland Township, Schuyler County, to Floyd R. and Ethyl May Cox Ford, he married Pauline Danner on Oct. 9, 1946, in Astoria. She survives.
  Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Duane (Gwen) Easley of Macomb, Dinah Ford of San Francisco, Mrs. Rick (Kathy) Heller of Lewistown and Mrs. Matt (Cindy) Creasy of Vermont; five grandchildren; and one stepgrandson.
  One infant brother preceded him in death.
  He was a farmer and worked at Western Illinois University for 16 years. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a military policeman.
  He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1921 in Macomb and the Carroll Rankin American Legion Post 26 in Vermont for 53 years.
  He was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church for 44 years.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at his church. The Rev. Jerry Sawyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Kost Memorial Home. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by his American Legion post.
  Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital hospice program in Macomb, his church or his American Legion post.

  RUSHVILLE - David D. Forman, 57, of Meredosia, formerly of Rushville, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
  Born Nov. 25, 1944, in Beardstown to Harold Junior and Elizabeth Dace Forman, he married Barbara McDonald on Aug. 26, 1967, in Longview, Texas. She survives.
  Also surviving is his father, Junior (and Merle) Forman of rural Rushville; his mother, Elizabeth Forman of Rushville; two sons, Tim of Camden and Rick of Mount Sterling; one brother, Phillip (and Norma) of Rushville; and one sister, Jane (and Gerald) Curry of Cuba.
  He was a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1963 to 1968, and was a member of the American Legion Post in Meredosia and Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post 1239 in Beardstown.
  He farmed in Schuyler County near Camden for nearly 35 years.
  He worked at Excel Corp. in Beardstown since 1989.
  Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gray Cemetery near Camden. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

  MEREDOSIA - David D. Forman, 57, of Meredosia died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

  Born Jan. 26, 1934, in Schuyler County to Glen D. and Barbara Lillian Cady Greenleaf, she married Edward Forsythe on Nov. 23, 1952, in Rushville. He died July 18, 1999.
  She also was preceded in death by one son, Dale Lewis Forsythe.
  She farmed with her husband.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mary Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Mount Sterling City Cemetery.

  Born Dec. 14, 1914, in Brown County to Charles and Eva Armstrong Hoelscher Forsythe, he married Edna Gerdes on Dec. 11, 1933, in Mount Sterling. She survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Lyle of Camp Point; two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Lois) Jones of Petersburg and Mrs. Eugene (Nina) Filer of Casper, Wyo.; two brothers, James of Kewanee and John of Jacksonville; two sisters, Laura Hale of Rushville and Ellen Underwood of Springfield; and five grandchildren. One brother, one sister, and five infant brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
  He was a farmer in Brown and Schuyler counties. He was a member of Schuyler County Farm Bureau, Schuyler County Coon Hunters Association, Schuyler County Coyote Hunters Association and the U.S. Trotting Association.
  He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Robert Belew will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Worthington Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.

  MACOMB - The Rev. Dale D. Fosdyck, 82, of Macomb died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at Wesley Village Healthcare in Macomb.
  Born Oct. 18, 1917, in Macomb to Clarence Dale and Laura Burr Fosdyck, he married Myrtle Willock in Ludington, Mich. She survives.
  Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. A. Lee (Glenda) Unger of Blandinsville, Mrs. Fred (Dalene) Adair of Macomb and Mrs. Roger (Francee) Vernoy of Le Claire, Iowa; one brother, Joe (and Peggy) of Silvis; one sister, Sylvia McCullough of Moline; and eight grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by one brother.
  Ordained into the Christian ministry by the Evangelistic Messengers Association, he served as pastor of McDonough Gospel Center Mission for 20 years and Webster Community Church in Webster for seven years. He also worked as a painter and interior decorator.
  He worked with the Child Evangelism Fellowship for seven years. He served as a song leader, Sunday School teacher and deacon at the former Grace Baptist Church.
  He attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and Ozark Bible Institute in Ozark, Ark.
  He joined the Medical Corps in 1943.
  He was a member of University Baptist Church.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dodsworth-PiperWallen Funeral Home. The Revs. A. Lee Unger and Richard Hurtgen will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

  He was born April 9, 1951, in Canton, Ill., the son of Beverly D. "B. D." and Faith Shawgo Foster.
  Mr. Foster was the owner of Foster's Heating and Air Conditioning in Havana.
  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Havana Post 6408 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid camper, he loved landscaping, gardening and his coy fish ponds.
  He is survived by his parents of Havana; his fiancee, Stephanie Bax of Havana; one son, Joshua (Nathania) Foster of Springfield, Ill.; one daughter, Kylie Foster of Havana; two grandsons, Elijah and Lathan Foster; one brother, Greg (Jan) Foster of Sherman; one sister, Velva (Tim) Fletcher of Bath, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
  Mr. Foster gave the gift of life by being an organ donor at the time of his death.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007, at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by the Rev. Robert Smith. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Summum Cemetery.

  Born Feb. 5, 1913, in Flat Woods, Fulton County, to Bernie Ray and Pearl France Foster, he married Marie Ward on April 18, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.
  Also surviving are one sister, Nedra Lane of Denver; and one nephew, Robert Lane Jr. of Denver.
  He was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and attended Sugar Grove United Methodist Church.
  He was a barber in Rushville since 1934. He also was a former member of the Rushville Volunteer Fire Department and was treasure for Schuyler School District 1 in Rushville since 1962. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home. The Revs. Harold Hedden and William Hesseldenz will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.

  Also surviving are two granddaughters; and one great-grandson. One son preceded him in death.
  He attended Western State College in Macomb and graduated from the University of Illinois with an engineering degree.
  He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a captain.
  He owned Fouts Plumbing and Heating in Macomb for 12 years. He was an engineer for the Indiana Department of Corrections for 15 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of BPO Elks, Macomb Rotary Club, Macomb Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a 32nd degree Mason.
  Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Leppert & Hurt Mortuary in Indianapolis. Visitation will be two hours before services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery in Astoria.

  He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
  He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran.
  He worked at Caterpillar Inc. and for the state of Illinois.
  He was an operating engineer for the Local 649 for 50 years, until retiring.
  He also operated Frakes Construction Co.
  He was a member of the Industry Masonic Lodge 327, which later merged with the Rushville Masonic Lodge 9.
  Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where Masonic rites will be accorded at 6 p.m. by the Rushville Masonic Lodge. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery near Brooklyn, where military rites will be accorded by the Macomb American Legion.

  She was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford France, and three sisters, Florine Thorman, Ethel Cole, and Inez Fueger.
  She graduated from Western Illinois State Teachers College in 1926 and from John C. Proctor Nursing School in Peoria in 1931. She was a registered nurse at St. Francis and McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. She traveled extensively after her retirement.
  Services were held Thursday, Jan. 19, 2005, at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, Macomb, with the Rev. Russell Smith officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

  She was born Feb. 18, 1958, in Rushville, the daughter of James H. and Janet Gossage Croxton.  She married Jack Freeman on Oct. 2, 1992, in Lewistown.  He survives.
  Also surviving are her parents of Peoria; grandfather, Howard Gossage, of Ray; two sons, Billy (wife Christy) Dennison of Pekin, and Brian Dennison of Peoria; two stepsons, Danny (wife Tonya) Freeman of Canton and Jimmy Freeman of Morganton, N.C.; one daughter, Lisa (husband Kevin) Thompson of Peoria; one stepdaughter, Katrina Freeman of Morganton, N.C.; four step-grandchildren; three grandchildren; two brothers, Gregg Croxton of Mesa, Ariz., and Chris Croxton of Peoria; and two sisters, Lori (husband Mike) Carroll of Peoria and Kymm (husband John) Carroll of Peoria.
  She was a bartender at the Canton Moose Lodge and was a local singer.
  She was a member of Women of the Moose Lodge in Canton and was of the Baptist faith.
  Services were Monday, Nov. 19, at the Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton with cremation to follow funeral services.

  He was born on Aug. 3, 1943, in Peoria, the son of Henry William and Lois Franklin Fretueg. He married Dixie Lisenbee in 1963 in Beardstown. He later married Donna Stiles in 1981 in Rushville.
  Mr. Fretueg was a self-employed contractor for 17 years, retiring in 1998.

  She was born March 21, 1934, in Mount Sterling, the daughter of Elza and Darlene Roberts Carpenter. She married Francis Henry Fretueg in 1951 in Mount Sterling; he died in 1997. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gerald Wayne Fretueg.
  Mrs. Fretueg was a homemaker and had worked for several years for Davis Cleaver, Inc. in Quincy. She attended Brown County schools and helped to organize many benefits in the Quincy area.
  Survivors: a daughter, Norma Fretueg of Quincy; a son, Francis Fretueg Jr. of Quincy; a granddaughter; four brothers, Jessie, Gene, Edie and Bill; four sisters, Margaret, Pat, Liz and Joyce; and several nieces and nephews.

  GALESBURG - Louise I. Fretueg, 85, of 101 N. Ivan Ave. died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 1997, at her home.
  Born Dec. 8, 1911, in McDonough County to Charles W. and Lilly Gunning Nelling, she married Samuel G. "Dutch" Fretueg on Sept. 14, 1935, in Keokuk, Iowa. He survives.
  Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Jane) Gellert of Winfield and Mrs. Tom (Carol) Willhite of Pittsburgh; one sister, Ethel Harrison of Moline; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  Three grandchildren preceded her in death.
  She worked in the office at the former O. T. Johnson Co. for 23 years.
  She lived for the past 56 years in Galesburg, where she was a member of First United Methodist Church.
  Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Robert Snider and Marilyn Anell will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight and one hour before services, both at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.

  Charles Steven Fritz, 50 of Astoria, formerly of Beardstown, died Thursday morning, Nov. 15, 2001, in Beardstown.
  He was born Sept. 26, 1951, in Beardstown, the son of Homer Charles and Betty Louise Coil Fritz.
  Surviving are two brothers, Fred L. Fritz (wife Judy) of Carlinville and James G. Fritz (wife Joann) of Beardstown; three sisters, Judith Ann Bailey (husband Milton R.) and Beverly I. Morton (husband James) both of Hebersprings, Ark., and Linda L. Fisher (husband David) of Beardstown; one step-sister, Bettigail Dyche (husband Bill) of Beardstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents.
  Mr. Fritz graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1970 and he attended Western Illinois University and Spoon River College.  He was employed at the Astoria American Legion Post.  He was a member of the Havana Tuesday Night Bowling League.  He had a collection of more than 150 hats, was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish, and loved to play pool.
  Funeral services for Steve Fritz were held Monday, Nov. 19, at the Beardstown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Bill Couchenour officiating.
  Burial was in the Beardstown City Cemetery.  The Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown was in charge of services.

  She was born March 4, 1913, in Brown County, the daughter of John and Katie Davis Logsdon. She married Leon Fry in 1932 in Brown County; he died in 1989. A son, John R. Fry, also preceded her in death.
  Mrs. Fry, who had attended Versailles schools, was a county case worker for the Illinois Department of Public Aid for more than 15 years. She attended the Mount Sterling First Christian Church and was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship.
  Survivors: a daughter, Janet (husband, Richard) Parker of Mount Sterling; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Baker of Versailles.

  A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Schuyler County American Legion.

  Also surviving are two daughters, Margo Barwald of Phoenix and Amy Martin (and Bill Bentley) of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sons, Gregory (and Julie) of Normal and Timothy (and Kim) of Deltona, Fla.; one brother, Glen (and Grace) of Kingwood, Texas; one sister, Marlene Lucy of Green Valley; and 11 grandchildren.
  He was a Korean War Air Force veteran.
  He had worked in sales before working for BroMenn Healthcare in BloomingtonNormal. He later retired from Mutual Management in Phoenix in 1996.
  A member of the Arizona Accordion Club, he also was a professional musician in the Peoria area for many years.
  Services will be at noon Monday at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary in Scottsdale, Ariz., where visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

  He worked at King Seeley Thermos for 30 years before retiring.

She married Merritt Gillenwaters on Sept. 8, 1972, in Rushville, He died Aug. 9, 1976. One son, Melvin Ralston, and one brother also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are one son, Gene Ralston of Rushville; one daughter, Marjorie Force of Havana; one stepson, Dr. Ronald Gillenwaters of Bonita Springs, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Anna Margaret Gille of Appleton, Wis.; three grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
  She worked at the former Tolles Restaurant in Rushville. She then was a telephone receptionist at Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville for more than 20 years.

  Surviving are three sons, Scott (and Julie) Jenkins of Canton, Gregory (and Christy) Jenkins of Muscatine, Iowa, and Gary (and Marilyn) Jenkins of Algona, Wash.; one daughter, Cathy (and Terry) Haynes of Manito; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Paul Vaughn of Canton; and three sisters, Sara Rosich, Lois Vaughn and Evelyn Behm, all of Canton.
  She was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Gomolak.
  She retired from Illinois Bell as an operator.
  She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 784.
  She was a member of First Christian Church in Canton.

  Junior E. Goldsborough, 79, of Rushville, passed away at 1:03 AM, Friday, February 9, 2007 at Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.
  He was born on August 22, 1927 in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, Illinois the son of the late Curtis and Anna (Dean) Goldsborough.  He married Verna France on December 30, 1950 in Fulton County, Illinois and she survives.
  Also surviving are three sons Gail and wife Patricia of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Carl and wife Cathy of New Market, Virginia and Paul and wife Sally of Fenton, Missouri, son-in-law Robert Burns of Murphysboro, five grandchildren, one step grandson, one great granddaughter, one brother Melvin Goldsborough and wife Edith of Rushville, his twin sister June Huston of Rushville a sister-in-law Bernice Goldsborough of Rochester Hills, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Bonnie Burns, three brothers Harold, Morris and Kenneth Goldsborough, and two sisters Marie Washam and Violet Phillips.
  An Army Air Corps veteran he served during the Korean Conflict.  From 1947 until his retirement in 1988, he was the plant Engineer for Bartlow Brothers in Rushville.
  He was a member of the Rushville Free Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer and many other positions.  He enjoyed working around the church and constructed a cross for the sanctuary and the stone planter inside the church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.  A member of the Sky Busters, he built radio controlled model airplanes.  His family took many camping trips and vacations.
  Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Rushville Free Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Ryan officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.  Memorials are suggested to the Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation.

  Surviving are one son, LeRoy of Monmouth; two daughters, Gladys Vancil and Alice Dean, both of Rushville; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He passed away April 11, 1979.

  He was a coal miner for 30 years for the former Tomlinson Coal Co.

  Born April 20, 1917, to Benjamin Rush and Cordelia Duncan Graham, he married Addra Icenogle on Aug. 31, 1945, in Macomb. She survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Benjamin Lee Graham of Springfield; one daughter, Marybeth Syfert of Macomb; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Two sisters preceded him in death.
  He graduated from Western Illinois State Teacher's College in Macomb in 1939. He earned his master's degree in school administration from Western Illinois University. He also attended the University of Iowa.
  He worked at Radford Ordnance Plant in Radford, Va., for several years. He was a farmer and a breeder of Angus cattle.
  He taught at Blandinsville Grade School for several years, where he was a basketball, track and baseball coach. He taught physics, chemistry, math and science at Blandinsville High School and at Northwestern High School. He retired in 1977. After retiring, he taught physics at Macomb High School for a semester. He taught radiological monitoring courses in Schuyler County and 55 Alive driver education courses in LaHarpe and Blandinsville.
  He was a member of the Illinois Education Association, National Education Association, Illinois Retired Teacher's Association, American Angus Association, Illinois Angus Association, McDonough County Farm Bureau, Kappa Delta Pi and Sigma Zeta.
  He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Blandinsville.
  Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at his church. The Revs. Barry Parker and Lee Unger will officiate. Calling hours will be after 4 p.m. today at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Glade City Cemetery.

  He graduated from Gem City Business College in Quincy in 1930. In 1941, he attended a Chevrolet management school in Detroit. He was an accountant for Pickenpaugh Motor Co. He bought the company in 1959 and it became Green Motors. He retired in 1991. He was a former board member of Culbertson Memorial Hospital and Scripps Park.
  He was a board member of First United Methodist Church, serving as chairman of the pastoral relations committee for 11 years. He was director of Community Chest and past president of Rushville Rotary Club.

  Mr. Joseph Runkle of this city, received a telegram Saturday evening announcing the death of his sister, Mrs. W. I. Green, who passed away the same day at Jacksonville.  Mrs. Green and family, consisting of her husband and one son, have resided in Colorado the past four years, having arrived in Jacksonville but a few days before her death.  Mrs. Green was 49 years of age.  She was a daughter of John Runkle, who was a lawyer of Rushville many years ago.  Joseph Runkle went to Jacksonville Monday morning to attend the funeral.

  MOUNT STERLING - Glen D. Greenleaf, 83, of rural Mount Sterling died at 7:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 1996, at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.
  Born Oct. 23, 1912, in Schuyler County to John and Elsie VanWinkle Greenleaf, he married Barbara Lillian Cady on March 28, 1933, in Schuyler County. She survives.
  Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ed (Betty) Forsythe of Mount Sterling; and two sisters, Grace Poston of Coal Valley and Eva Little of Rushville.
  He was a farmer and livestock producer.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville. The Rev. Loren Curtis will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.   HAVANA - Russell Greer, 75, of Matanza Beach, Havana, died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 1996, at his residence.
  Born Oct. 30, 1920, in Rushville to Harold C. and Lila B. Pratt Greer, he married Marjorie Browning on July 20, 1943, in Dakota City, Neb. She survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Gordon of Camden, Mich.; one daughter, Joyce Ray of Greenville, N. C.; one brother, Francis of Mount Sterling; one sister, Margaret Esslinger of Bowen; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
  He worked for Gain Greenhouse in Rushville for many years and was superintendent of golf courses in Rushville and Havana, retiring from LeRoy County Club in 1984. A World War II Army Air Forces veteran, he was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post 4; Havana Veterans of Foreign Wars Post; and AMVETS. He also was a member of Rushville Masonic Lodge 9, AF&AM. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rushville.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville. The Rev. Jerry Watkins will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by his American Legion post.
  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to any charity.

  RUSHVILLE - Mary Lou "Rip" Greer, 67, of Rushville died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996, at her son's home in Rushville.
  Born July 24, 1928, in Danville to Lewis B. and Nellie DeCamp VanWinkle, she married Joe Greer.
  Surviving are one son, Bob of Rushville; one daughter, Mrs. Willard (Janet) Britton of Washington, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two infant sisters.
  She worked at Mickleberry's and then owned Ping's Pantry from 1973 to 1984. She later owned Schuy-Vista Supper Club and last was a clerk and bookkeeper at the Rushville IGA. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel. Carl Wiggins will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the chapel. Burial will be in Brooklyn Cemetery in Brooklyn, Ill.

  Luster Gregg, aged three years, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Gregg of the Hawkeye school district, eight miles east of Rushville, died of diphtheria last Saturday. The funeral services took place Sunday afternoon.
  Mrs. Gregg is reported to be afflicted with the same disease.

  RUSHVILLE - J. Milton Haber, 82, of Rushville died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.
  Born Jan. 16, 1916, in Rushville to Paul Vernon and Eleanor May Campbell Haber, he married Doris Smidley on May 14, 1938, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
  Also surviving are one son, John of Houston; three daughters, Mrs. John (Carol) Boyd of Englewood, Fla., Mrs. Jon (Cynthia) Mummert of Astoria and Mrs. William (Cathy) Redshaw of Rushville; one sister, Mary Chadwick of Rushville; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
  One infant daughter, Shirley, one infant granddaughter and one sister preceded him in death.
  He was a meat cutter for Bartlow Packing Co. in Rushville for 10 years. He then was a general contractor and licensed plumber in Rushville for 40 years, retiring in 1983. He was a 50-year member of Rushville Masonic Lodge 9, AF&AM. He also was a member of Quincy Consistory, AASR; Ansar Shrine of Springfield; Schuyler 22 Club; and Schuyler Shrine Club.
  He was an original member of the Schuyler State Bank Board of Directors.
  He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rushville, where services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Revs. Scott Henley and Stacey Tomach will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Worthington Funeral Home, where Masonic services will be conducted by his Masonic lodge at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.
