Aspinwall Monument - Photo contributed by Judy Birdsall / Alice Horner This was the first monument in the cemetery, the tomb of Mrs. Homer F. Aspinwall, whose husband was one of the incorporators of the Oakland Cemtery Corporation. She was buried August 2, 1902. Homer F. Aspinwall was a naval veteran Paul - Friedly Monument Photo contributed by Judy Birdsall / Alice Horner Samuel Friedly became proprietor of the Brewster House about 1910 or so. The Brewster House was the hotel Lincoln stayed in for the Lincoln-Douglas debate in 1858. Prior to Samuel Friedly running it, the hotel was run by J.S.
