Miss Gwendolyn Ora Taft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Taft, Winslow, Ill., and Arnold Alfred Neuenschwander, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neuenschwander, Monroe, were married at 2:30 p. m. today in St. John’s Evangelical church here by the Rev. P. Alfred Schuh. The bride wore a gown of blue velvet with matching accessories. Miss Ardath Taft, Winslow, sister and attendant of the bride, wore a dress of rust colored crepe with matching accessories. Frederick Neuenschwander, Monroe, nephew of the groom, was best man. A wedding dinner for a group of friends was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Hurless, uncle and aunt of the bride, at Orangeville, Ill. After March 1 the couple will reside on a farm west of Monroe. The bride attended schools in Orangeville, Ill., and the groom attended Monroe schools.

The Masons are hold a special meeting at the Masonic Hall this evening to commerate the 50th anniversary of Henry Leverington being a Mason. Mr. Leverington lived on a far in Wayne Township about three miles west of Winslow and at present is enjoying good health for one of his age.

11 March 1939 - Freeport Journal Standard Charles Cliff of Kent has received the appointment as rural carrier on route 1 taking the place of Jay Daughenbaugh who has been temporary carrier since last September.

Mrs. Mabel Bowers of Freeport spent the weekend visiting at the Thomas Eells home.

Miss Virginia Leverington of Waukegan returned to her work there Sunday after spending a few days vacation with home folks.
