The bride, daughter of John Beecher, Sr. chose a two-piece blue silk shantung dress for her wedding, which she wore with matching accessories trimmed in contrasting color. She wore an orchid corsage. She was given in marriage by her son, Leslie Robert Stukenberg. Mrs. Floyd Walker attended her as matron of honor, wearing a dress of ashes of roses and gray bamberg, with matching accessories. She had a corsage of gardenias. Sharon Stukenberg, daughter of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a pink linen two-piece suit and a corsage of pink rosebuds. Floyd Walker served as best man and Franklin Walker was usher. A reception was given in the Clarence Beecher home, immediately after the ceremony. The table holding the wedding cake was covered with a white linen cloth and lighted with white candles. The cake was surrounded by pink and white gladioli. The guest book and gifts were taken care of by Mrs. John R. Marshall of Yorkville. Mrs. Walter Schleich cut and served the cake. Mrs. Fred Raih, sister of Mayor Kunkle, served the coffee and Mrs. Claire Beecher of Yorkville served the punch. Mrs. Kunkle attended Yorkville and Dixon schools and is a graduate of Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. Her husband attended Freeport public schools and is now serving his second term as mayor of Freeport. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Canada. They will live at 20 E. Wayne Street when they return. Those who attended the wedding from out of town were from Freeport, Chadwick, DeKalb, Lisbon, Chicago, and Hinckley.
