MARRIAGES


Miss Rosemary Medley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Medley, 804 West Avon street, became the bride of William L. Kinzig at a nuptial high mass at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Joseph's church.

Mr. Kinzig is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Kinzig, 1236 South Maple avenue. Rev. Robert Schneider performed the double-ring ceremony before an altar decorated with Easter lilies. Sister Geraldine played the organ. Mrs. Melvin Groff was soloist and the children's choir sang the mass.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She word a white slipper satin gown with tight-fitting bodice closed by tiny buttons down the front. The bodice was trimmed by a petal collar and deep cuffs of Chantilly lace. The full skirt extended into a short train. Her finger-tip veil with lace edge was held by a satin cloche. She carried a cascade of white carnations centered with a white orchid. Miss Peggy Balles, maid of honor, wore a gown of yellow embroidered organdy with cap sleeves and a full skirt. She wore a matching picture hat and carried dubonnet Pelagonium carnations in a colonial bouquet. Bridesmaids were Misses Marianne Meyers and Barbara Schumacher, who wore gowns similar to the maid of honor's gown. Miss Meyers wore a pink dress and carried pink carnations, while Miss Schumacher's gown was green. Robert Medley, brother of the bride, was best man. Daniel Dominick and Richard Ditzler were ushers. A wedding breakfast was given for 35 guests in the Hunt room of Hotel Freeport at noon. A reception at 2 o'clock took place in the Garden room and entertained 100 guests. Out-of-town guests were from Galena, Lanark, East Dubuque, and Shannon, Ill.; Norfolk, Va.; Dubuque, Ia.; Rewey and Platteville, Wis. At the reception Misses Mary Luecke and Carol Knauff cut the cake. Misses Joyce Cremer and Rae Jean McPherson served the punch.

Coffee was served by Misses Margie Kuehl and Judy McGinn. Miss Joyce Ditzler was in charge of the guest book and Misses Pat Malone and Marian Trapp handled the gifts. The table was centered with pink carnations an white stock. The bride is a graduate of Aquin high school and is employed in the office of Micro Switch. The bridegroom, 1 1948 graduate of Freeport high school, is employed by Cheeseman Construction company. After a honeymoon in St. Louis the couple will live at 319 West Clark Street.
