MOLLIE (YARGER) SMITH
, aka Mary Yarger Smith. She was the daughter of William ‘Capt Bill’ and Mary/Polly (Goodman) Yarger Smith, Sister Mollie, born in Union County, Pa., Oct. 4, 1834, died near Lena, Ill., in the bounds of the Waddams Grove congregation, June 11, 1911. She was the daughter of Bro. William and Sister Mary Yarger (deceased). She married to Bro Noah Smith June 25, 1852, who died Sept. 23, 1909. They were baptized about the year 1868. Twelve children were born to them. Eleven of them survive. Services by Eld. P.R. Keltner. Text, 2 Cor. 5:1-4, Interment in the Louisa cemetery.

AGED WOMAN CALLED HOME SUNDAY MORNING
Mrs. Mollie Smith passed away at 6:10 o'clock Sunday morning, June 11, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Van Sickle, east of Lena. She had been ill for the past six months with bronchial affection, complicated with other troubles.
Mollie Yarger was born in Union County, Pa. October 1834. In 1852 she was united in marriage to Noah Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Smith came to northern Illinois over 40 years ago where the greater part of their life was passed. They became parents of 12 children, all but one of whom is still living. Mr. Smith passed away in September 1909 and since that time Mrs. Smith made her home with her daughter, Mrs. James Van Sickle. Mrs. Smith was a most exemplary woman, a consistent member of the Brethren church with which she became connected when quite young. The funeral services were held at the Louisa church Tuesday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. P.R. Keltner. Internment was made in the Louisa cemetery.
The following children survive: Mrs. Katie Starr, Rolette, North Dakota; Mrs. Electa Swartz, McCausland, Iowa; Henry, Monroe Wisconsin; William, Milo Alta, Canada; Mrs. Laura Hull, Mitchell, South Dakota; Mrs. Ella Ginrich, Jewell City, Kansas; Mrs. Nettie Skinner, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Anna Kurtz, Courtland, Nebraska; George Smith and Mrs. Van Sickle.
Besides these, she is survived by a large number of grandchildren and what is very unusual for one of her advanced years, eleven brothers and sisters.

NOAH SMITH
, born in Union County, Pa., June 14, 1824, died at Lena, Ill., Sept. 23, 1909, aged 85 years, 3 months and 19 days. He came to Stephenson County, Ill. at the age of fifteen and was married to Mollie Yarger June 23, 1852, who, with eleven children, survives. One child preceded him. He united with the Church of the Brethren in 1868, and lived an earnest Christian life. Services in the Baptist church by Eld. P.R. Keltner. Text, 2 Cor. 5:1, which he had chosen several years ao. Interment in the Louisa cemetery.

CALLED HOME
Noah Smith dies of Heart Failure
Noah Smith passed away Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Van Sickle, south of Lena. Death was due to old age and heart failure.
The funeral was held Saturday at one o'clock at the house and at 2 o'clock from the Baptist Church. Rev Keltner of Rockford officiated, and internment was made in Louisa cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born at Prestlow, Pa., June 14, 1824. The widow and eleven children survive. Four of whom were here, they are:-- George Smith, Mrs. James Van Sickle, Mrs. Lecta Swartz of McCausland, Iowa, and Henry Smith of Monroe, Wisconsin.

The funeral of the late Noah Smith who passed away Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Van Sickle was held at the Baptist Church at 2 o'clock that afternoon. The Rev. Peter Keltner, pastor of the Brethren Church of Rockford, officiated. Mr. Smith formerly resided in Rock Grove Township and was a resident of this city for many years. During the past few years, he and his wife spent a considerable time with children in the west, and lately returned to their daughter south of Lena.
The deceased was 85 years old and his demise was caused by old age.
