Roy and Lester Brandt - Smith Studio Freeport IL
Roy and Lester Brandt are connected to our Kaiser family:
the two little boys are the sons of Charles H. and Henriette Louisa (Kaiser) Brandt of Freeport.
Roy Carl Brandt was born in 1890, Lester Friedrich Brandt in1891. Their mother Henriette Louisa Kaiser (daughter of Fred and Christina Kaiser of Freeport and later Lancaster TWP) was a niece of our Christoph and Sophie Kaiser of Florence TWP, Stephenson County, and would have been first cousin to Mary and Pauline Kaiser's father Fred C. Kaiser.
Mary and Pauline and the two little boys would therefore have been second cousins.
The Kaiser researchers are still seeking a photo of an old lady:
Catherine (Hahne) Kaiser (1798-1881), mother of Christoph and Fred Kaiser above.
She came to Freeport in the late 1850s and died in Lancaster TWP in 1881.
The German newspaper obituary I found at the Local History Room of the Freeport Public Library called
her the oldest resident of the township when she died.

Mary Kaiser - Wareham Studios // Pauline Kaiser - Smith Studios
I believe they might be two daughters of Fred C. Kaiser (1851-1915) of Florence Twp and Freeport, IL and his wife Sophie (Nesemeier) Kaiser.
My records show that their children were: Pauline (b.1875); Mary (b.1877); Fred (b.1879); Flora (b.1883); Rosa (b.1884); and Sadie (b.1886).
Pauline married in 1905, and died in 1947 -- I have records of some descendants. Mary married around 1900, and died in 1962 -- she had two children, although no grandchildren.
