Observes 90th Birthday In Her Home of Many Years

A constant source of cheer and delight to Mrs. Leila Toennings, 327 S. Fourth Street, is her pet parrot, picture with her on the day she observed her 90th birthday- May 21. Mrs. Toennigs, who was born at Mt. Pleasant, IA., on May 21, 1862, marked her 90th year in the Pekin residence which she has known as home most of her life. Her husband, the late Henry W. Toennings, a former Tazewell county treasurer, died on May 16, 1942. The couple had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1933. Mrs. Toennigs has two sons: Harry and George, who, together with George's wife, reside with her.
