Status: PARTIAL NEGELECT - GUARDED!!

Cemetery is mowed with many stones flat on the ground. Roughly half of the stones are white limestone and very badly weathered making the reading on at least 13 as unreadable. No visible attempt to restore broken stones or flag unmarked graves. At least 30 stones at angles to grave - in progress of sinking into the grave. An additional 12 to 15 stones are toppled with several more in process. While mowed, there's been no attempts to trim around stones. LARGE pile of brush & field waste (natural) in back of cemetery (approx 18 feet in diameter). Stones in high brush & IN fence rows. (2003)

Died Oct. 8, 1847 Submitted by: Helen A Everhart , July 2006, This is the stone for my 2nd great grandmother.
Magdalena's maiden name was Kurtz, the d.o. Abraham Kurtz & Elizabeth Fisher. She bore 6 King children between 1832 & 1843. Great-great Grandpa Samuel King (b. Feb 8, 1808 - d. Aug. 15, 1895,) was the s.o. Christian King and & Mary Yoder. He married again, after Magdalena's death, to Mary (Garber) Gerber
(b. abt 1833 - died 1901,) and they had 10 more children. My great grandfather was David Henry King,
(b. 1/8/1808 - d. 8/15/1895.) Samuel (Koenig) King and his 2nd wife are buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery,
in Elm Grove Twp., East of Pekin.
