| HARMS, BERNARD Sr Pekin IL- Bernard Lee "Benny" Harms, Sr., 69 of 1213 Summer Street passed away at 11:13 am Thursday January 26 2006 at Pekin Hospital. Born June 21, 1936 in Green Valley to Fred and Carrie A Martin Harms, he married Marcella Maxine Frazee on July 22 1957 in Springfield. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Marcia K (Perry) Whitley, Jane L (Owen) Miller, and Shellie M Harms, all of Pekin, and Melinda J "Mindy" (Steven) Peacock of West Frankforst; three sons, Walter L (Diana) Harms of Carlisle, KY, and Bernard L "Bernie" Harms Jr. and David W (Helena) Harms, both of Pekin; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Delbert (Virginia) Harms of Forest City and Howard (Loretta) Harms of Pekin; two sisters, Orilla (Wayne) Wiseman of Green Valley and Myrna (Robert) Johnson of Wheaton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son (Jefforey H Harms on May 4 1983 in Peoria) and one brother (Russell Harms). Benny worked for Caterpillar Inc for 26 years, retiring in 1998 as a fork lift driver at the morton Parts Facility. He previously worked at the American Distilling Company in Pekin for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin and the Tazewell County Farm Bureau. His funeral will be at 10 am Monday January 30 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. The Rev Rodger P Abatie and Vicar Aloysius B Majewski will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Sunday January 29 2006 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel and 30 minutes before the funeral Monday at the church. | WISEMAN, ORILLA Green Valley IL- Orilla Louise Wiseman 75 of 114 N Maple St passed away at 6:09 am Monday July 27 2009 at Pekin Hospital, Pekin IL. Born April 11 1934 in Green Valley to Fred and Carrie (Martin) Harms, she married Wayne J Wiseman December 03 1949 in Green Valley. Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Sheryl Hickerson of Peoria Heights; 1 son Wayne F (Sandy) Wiseman of Pekin; 2 grandchildren, Shimeha Volk and Jason Timian; 2 great-grandchildren, Cody Timian and Jared Timian; 1 brother Howard (Loretta) Harms of Pekin 1 sister, Myrna (Robert) Johnson of Forest City and 1 sister-in-law, Marcella Harms of Pekin. Orilla was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Delbert Harms, Russell Harms and Benny Harms. She had worked as a waitress for several restaurants including the Red Wagon in Pekin. Orilla was a member of First United Methodist Church in Green Valley. She enjoyed gardening and was a huge professional wrestling fan. Her funeral will be at 2 pm Friday July 31 2009 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Bruce Bolin-Ghitalla will officiate. | HINDMAN, MARY Pekin IL- Mary B. Hindman, 88, of Pekin passed away at 1:30 a.m. Friday, on Nov. 5, 2010, at her residence, surrounded by family. She was born July 4, 1922, to William and Rose Insalico Ingolia in Peoria, Ill. She married Harold Hindman on Jan. 10, 1953, in Pekin. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1988. Her parents; and two brothers, Dominic "Dom" Ingolia and Santo "Sam" Ingolia; also preceded her. She leaves behind four children, Barbara (Michael) Polson of Groveland, Brian Hindman of Pekin, Rebecca (Louis) Reeise of Pekin, Lisa (James) Kalusa of Green Valley; six grandchildren, Nathan Polson of Hope-dale, Justin (Ainsley), Trent (Tabitha) and Brice Reeise of Pekin, and Mary Ann and Jimmy Kalusa of Green Valley. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Addison, Ethan, Tristan and Lainey Reeise. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. | HURLEY, ELLEN Creve Coeur IL - Ellen M. Hurley, 55, of Creve Coeur, Ill., died at 5:32 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born July 9, 1955, in Peoria, Ill., and was a daughter of Bill and Floy Willan Hurley. They survive. Also surviving are her longtime boyfriend, Roger Leverton of Creve Coeur, Ill.; two daughters, Maria Strubhar of Yates City, Ill., Melissa Hartwell of Pekin, Ill.; two sons, David Hartwell of Pekin, Ill., and John Hartwell of Creve Coeur, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and one sister, Jo Hurley of Peoria, Ill. OLEDA Morton IL - Oleda M. Menold, 93, of Morton died at 4 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. She was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Forrest, Ill., to Walter and Elizabeth (Moser) Honegger. She married Herman F. Menold on Aug. 30, 1942, in Forrest. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2007. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Lisa Marie Menold and Carolyn Feucht; two grandchildren, Christopher Chadwick and Andrew Witzig; her parents; five brothers, Perry, Ed, Jesse, Glen and Max; and two sisters, Leona Tanner and Verna Schaefer. Surviving are three sons, Thomas (Sheryl) Menold of Peoria, Greg (Linda) Menold and Brad (Jacquetta) Menold, both of Morton; four daughters, Elizabeth (Dennis) Feucht of Morton, Mary (Jerome) Witzig of Secor, Susan (David) Chadwick of Morton and Twyla (Arthur) Schlipf of Gridley; son-in-law, Charles Feucht of Elgin, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harley (Lorraine) Honegger of Forrest, Ill., and John (Wilma) Honegger of Peoria; and three sisters, Marge (Wilbur) Schneider of Rittman, Ohio, Ruth Roth of Fairbury, Ill., and Donna Leman of Forrest, Ill. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Oleda was an inspiration to her family and friends. She was a member of the Morton Apostolic Christian Church, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, with church ministers officiating. JESSE East Peoria IL - Jesse "Jack" T. Modlin, 83, of 101 Brentwood Drive, East Peoria, Ill., passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at his residence. He was born April 4, 1927, to Louis R. and Mildred M. (Rice) Modlin. He first married Alice Self on June 1, 1952, in Peoria. He later married Colleen Montgomery on Oct. 21, 1976, in Peoria. She survives, along with three daughters, Nancy A. Kirk of Bartonville, Barbara (Rich) Gillespie of Bartonville and Mary Jane (Ron) Strawser of Fort Myers, Fla.; one brother, James R. Modlin of Peoria; one sister, Juel (Gerald) Zimmerman of Bartonville; three grandchildren, Nicholas Bridges Jr. of Trivoli, Katie (Mike) Mueller of East Peoria and Sam Jones of Fort Myers, Fla.; and one stepdaughter, Wanda Anderson of Elkton, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard E. Modlin. He loved playing golf, woodworking, traveling, boating and fishing. He worked at Clifford-Kaufman and Sons in Morton as a bricklayer, from which he retired. He attended Northwoods Community Church in Peoria. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge in both Bartonville and Peoria. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. ARLENE Bartonville IL - Arlene F. Pierson, 85, of Bartonville passed away on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at her home. She was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Peoria, one of 15 children (eight boys and seven girls) of Joseph and Hazel Ritter of East Peoria. She married Donald L. Pierson on June 6, 1953, in Peoria, and together they raised three boys, Charles E. Elgin of Clanton, Alabama, Donald L. Pierson Jr. of Mesa, Arizona, and Rick L. Pierson of Naperville; and four girls, Sherrie Jo (Elgin) Hamilton of Peoria, Sandra Kay (Elgin) Studdert of East Peoria, Synthia Ruth (Elgin) Salazar of Peoria and Candie Lynn (Pierson) Chiaravalle of Bartonville. Arlene has 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and five sisters. After placing their trust in Christ in 1969, Arlene and Don started a ministry to youth called Pathfinder, and organized and managed a contemporary Christian singing group called the New Perspective. They served as superintendents of the High School Department at Grace Presbyterian for many years. Arlene led numerous Bible studies at local nursing homes. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria for 34 years. Her hobbies included interior decorating, ceramics and sewing. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Grace Presbyterian Church, 8607 N. State Route 91 in Peoria (near The Shoppes at Grand Prairie). DONALD Washington IL - Donald R. Sorensen, 74, of Washington, Ill., died at 1:42 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at his home surrounded by his children. He was born on Jan. 24, 1936, in Havana, Ill., to Raymond A. and Margaretha F. Vanderveen Sorensen. He is survived by his son, Kirk Sorensen of Washington, Ill.; his two daughters, Kristy (Danny) Howell of Washington, Ill., and Kim (Pat) Tralongo of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandsons, Logan Howell of Washington, Ill., and Sam and Luke Tralongo of Huntsville, Ala.; and two granddaughters, Alison and LeighAnna Tralongo of Huntsville, Ala. Don was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Chet Bortell, who raised him. He received his bachelor's and master's degree in education from Western Illinois University in Macomb and began teaching in the Astoria, Ill., school system. After two years at Astoria, Don became an instructor and basketball coach at Spoon River College in Canton, Ill. In 1963, he entered the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a special agent and served in Tampa and Sarasota, Fla., Birmingham and Huntsville, Ala., and Springfield and Peoria, Ill., retiring in 1986 after 23 years of service. He opened Sorensen Investigative Agency, Inc. in February of 1986 and operated it until his death. Don was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington for over 40 years. He also was a member of the Retired FBI Society and Ducks Unlimited. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed duck and goose hunting, and fishing. He was also known for his beautiful flower gardens. Don loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Services for Don will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Thomas Heren will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. | SQUIER, MILTON Milton Gene Squier 80, of Green Valley passed away Wednesday morning, October 13th, at Mardell Manor, where he has been a resident since September 2008. Formerly of Deer Creek, Illinois, Mr. Squier lived at the Trailer Park in Goodfield, IL for 3 years and for a brief period of time with his son, Monty, in Augusta, GA. ‘Gene’ loved the folks at Mardell Manor and they loved him. Words cannot express the depth of gratitude the family feels for the tender, loving care he received while in their safekeeping. Mr. Squier was a professional truck driver, a terminal manager as well as a dispatcher during the course of his career. He loved to fish. He was born in Pekin, Illinois on February 23, 1930 to Earl B. & Blanche F. (Hyatt) Squier. Married three times, he leaves behind Lee and Nelena (Squier) White of Pekin, IL, Monty and Julie Squier of Augusta, GA, Kelly and Jaime Squier of Morton, IL and Larry and Kim (Squier) Brown of Pekin, IL. Colleen (step- daughter) and Steve Aeschilman of Deer Creek, IL and Patrick (step son) and Chris Carmody of Bloomington, IL. Three daughters from a former marriage survive as well. Linda, Terri and Lu Ann (Tina) Johnson of the Peoria area. His sister Mrs. Robert (Marian) Reid resides in Pekin, Illinois. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Darrell Squier, Conrad Squier, Ronald Squier and a grandson, Seth Benjamin White. DOROTHY Pekin IL-Dorothy M. Brewer, 75, of Pekin, formerly of East Peoria, died at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Timbercreek Rehabilitation and Health Care in Pekin. She was born Sept. 24, 1935, in Henton, Ill., to Gerald and Elsie (Compton) Huber. She married Chester W. Brewer on June 20, 1953, in Peoria. Surviving are her husband of Pekin; four sons, Raymond Brewer of New Albany, Ind., Richard (Karen) Brewer of Pekin, Randall Brewer of Pekin and Rodney (Amy) Brewer of Speer, Ill.; six grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Zach, Neil, Hayley and Emily; one great-granddaughter, Claire; and two sisters, Betty Hoagland of Washington and Doris (Norman) Harlan of East Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Dorothy worked for several years in the late 1950s to early 1960s at Brown Auto Store as a bookkeeper, in the Lincoln School cafeteria in East Peoria and as a cashier at Schierer's Dairy in East Peoria. She then worked as an emergency room receptionist at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, retiring in June 1985. She last worked as a bookkeeper at Brewer Machine Shop until early 1992, leaving due to ill health. She was a member of East Peoria First Church of the Nazarene, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, with the Rev. Tim Livengood officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. | BENNINGER, ROBERT Creve Coeur IL- Robert Gerald Benninger, 66, of Creve Coeur passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at his residence. He was born Aug. 31, 1944, to Jerry and Mildred Kelly Benninger in Pekin. He married Juanita Jean Grube in Pekin on Dec. 17, 1989. She survives along with his three sons, Jon Benninger of Mason City, Jerry (Tricia) Benninger of Lincoln and Jeff Benninger of Carroll, Iowa. He also is survived by his five grandchildren and his two sisters, Irene Guare of Bloomington and Irma Leesman of Harrison, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Detmers. Robert served in the U.S. Air Force and worked in construction, retiring in 2009. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, 628 S. Main St., in Creve Coeur, where a celebration of life will be held Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. Cremation has been accorded and memorials may be made to his wife to assist with expenses. HELEN North Pekin IL-Helen Danko of North Pekin, formally of Streator, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at her residence. She was born June 19, 1914, in Wenona, Ill., to Ambrose and Mary Yambrusic Smith. She was married to Walter L. Danko by the Rev. E.S. Dunn on June 27, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wenona. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1953. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Michael Rescan and Frank Smith; and two sisters, Agnes Piraino and Emma Nadler. She is survived by her two sons, John Howard Danko of River Forest, Ill., and Daniel (Marilyn) Danko of Downers Grove, Ill.; daughter, Mary Ellen (Randy) Carney of Pekin, Ill.; sister, Alma Seghetti of Peoria, Ill.; and several nephews. She is also survived by Carol Tannhauser and family. She was the manager of the school cafeteria for St. Stephens School in Streator, Ill., where she worked for more than 30 years. Helen was loving and dedicated to her family. She was high energy with a strong sense of duty and she had a great sense of humor. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Streator, Ill., at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation at Solon-Telford Funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. W STEPHEN Pekin IL- W. Stephen "Steve" Meinik, 87, of Pekin died at 7:08 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at his home. Steve was born on Jan. 23, 1923, in Pekin to Stephen and H. Marie (Hopper) Meinik. He married Doris Mae Skinner on July 20, 1947, in Pekin. She died on March 24, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one son. Surviving are one daughter, Janice A. Wright of Moline, Ill.; and two granddaughters, Brianna Wright of Moline, Ill., and Erin M. Hill of Pekin, Ill. Steve was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pekin Moose Lodge 916 and Past Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Roy L. King Post 1232.Steve was the parking enforcement officer for the city of Pekin for 17 years, retiring in 2004. Born Jan. 29, 1935, in rural Pekin to Fred Louis and Helen (Johannes) Oberle, he married E. Charlene Hayes on Nov. 26, 1960, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are six children, Michael J. Oberle of Green Valley, Jody M. (David) Weibring, Elizabeth A. "Beth" (Paul) Glubczynski and Eric E. (Julie) Oberle, all of Pekin, Gayle L. Oberle of Georgetown and Chad K. (Buffi) Oberle of Metamora; 14 grandchildren, Chris Weibring of Chicago, Heather Weibring of Durham, N.C., IT3 Justin (Meagan) Biesinger of Chesapeake, Va., Alisha Biesinger of Champaign, Natalee Runyan of Peoria, Elise Oberle and Emily Oberle, both of Green Valley, Derek Stoehr, Dylan Stoehr, Brodie Oberle and Braelyn Oberle, all of Pekin, Nick Glubczynski of Sheffield and Lily Oberle and Evan Oberle, both of Metamora; and two brothers, Donald (Betty) Oberle of Peoria and Kenneth Oberle of Leland, Miss. His parents preceded him death. A 1952 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Fran had served in the Illinois National Guard for six years with the infantry unit based in Delavan. Fran was a real estate broker for RE/MAX Home Realtors in Pekin for 15 years, last working Oct. 9. He started his real estate career in Peoria with Commercial National Realty and then worked with Olt & Griffin in Pekin. He also was a partner in Oberle & Mayberry Realtors in Pekin for a period of five years. In all, Fran enjoyed a successful career in real estate for 44 years. Fran was an ambassador with the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of the chamber's Puttin on Pekin Committee. Fran was a former trustee for the Tazewell County Regional Office of Education and a member and past president of the Pekin Association of Realtors. He also was a member of the Illinois Association of Realtors. He was a former member of the Boys and Girls Club board of directors. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where he was a Eucharistic minister, CCD teacher, RCIA teacher and an usher. He was involved in the Prison Ministry of the Church and in 2008 was selected as the volunteer of the year by the Pekin Federal Prison. He also had been active in Cursillo and was a former member of the St. Joseph School Board of Education. He was a member and past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Archbishop Schlarman Council 3507 and a fourth degree member and past Faithful Knight of Assembly 210, both in Pekin. In 2003, he was selected Knight of Knights. Fran was chairman and a proud donor for the blood drives held at the K of C. Fran was very devoted to his family and church. His funeral Mass will be at noon Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where the recitation of the rosary and a Chalice service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Friday at the church. MARGARET East Peoria IL-Margaret Canterbury, 83, of East Peoria passed away at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at her residence. Margaret was Jeff Gordon's #1 fan. Born Oct. 1, 1927, in Kansas City, Kan., to Thomas and Sarah (McCullom) Kopsa, she married James M. Canterbury Jr. on Jan. 14, 1947, in Salem, Ark. He died April 4, 1984, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Kopsa; three sisters, Jean Hancock, Pauline Pliler and Hazel Chambers; one grandson; and one great-grandson. Surviving are three sons, James (Donna) Canterbury of Cuba, Micheal Canterbury of Creve Coeur and Dennis (Tracey) Canterbury of Washington; three daughters, Laura Dinkins of North Pekin, Anita Canterbury of Troy and Connie Canterbury of Washington; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank Kopsa of Salem, Ark., and Charles Elliott of Chicago. Margaret attended New Life Christian Fellowship in North Pekin. She enjoyed meeting the ladies for lunch and was always a helping hand when it came time to make peanut brittle or have a rummage sale. Margaret loved chocolate and enjoyed some every day. She also had a weakness for good looking-men. Topping her list were Tom Selleck, Jeff Gordon, George Jones and Elvis Presley. Margaret was spunky and fun; she is already being greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. ROBERT Washington IL-Robert C. Heinzmann, 73, of Chillicothe, Ill., and formerly of Washington, Ill., died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at his daughter's home in Washington. He was born July 5, 1937, in Peoria, Ill., to Francis and Alice Roser Heinzmann.Surviving are five children, Bob (Rosie) Heinzmann and Pat (Rich) Brown, both of Washington, Ill., Steve (Julie) Heinzmann of Moline, Ill., and Greg (Angie) Heinzmann and Teresa (Kevin) Schone, both of Washington, Ill.; his fiancee, Esther Merdian of Chillicothe; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Bob worked as a boilermaker at Hiram Walker until his retirement in 1981. He later worked at Multi-Ad and Peoria Tent & Awning. He was a master of many hobbies, including gardening, carpentry, auto mechanics and fishing, and was known as an all-around craftsman. Bob was of the Catholic faith. KENNETH Creve Coeur IL- Kenneth Ray Roberts, 79, of Creve Coeur passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. He was born on Aug. 10, 1931, in Lincoln, Ill., to Paul and Mayme (Sams) Roberts. He married Barbara M. Hoey on Sept. 19, 1954, in Peoria, Ill. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2003, in Peoria. His parents and one brother, Donald Roberts, also preceded him in death. Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Eric) Nelson and Diane (Danny) Donald, both of Creve Coeur; two grandchildren, Shawana Nolan and Jake Nelson, both of Creve Coeur; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harold (Billie) Roberts of Washington, Ill. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War before being honorably discharged. He started working in the foundry in East Peoria for Caterpillar and later transferred to an office position in Morton, retiring in 1983.Kenneth was a member of the UAW Local 974 and was a volunteer firefighter with Creve Coeur Fire and Rescue.A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. TYLER (formerly) Pekin IL- Tyler Steven Sullivan, 28, of Peoria passed away at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria (result of accident). He was formerly of Pekin. Born July 23, 1982, in Decatur, he was the son of Randy and Cindy (Comstock) Keyes. He married Joy Nicole Tuffentsamer on Sept. 1, 2007, in rural Mackinaw. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Evan Tyler Sullivan and Mason Dean Sullivan, both at home; his mother, Cindy Keyes of Pekin; his father, Randy Keyes of Pekin; his grandparents, William and Lorraine Comstock of Pekin and Betty Keyes of Pekin; four brothers, Tom (Stephanie) Sullivan, Tim Sullivan and Michael Keyes, all of Pekin and Chris Keyes of Arkansas; one sister, Stephanie Keyes of Arkansas; several aunts and uncles, including Bill (Johl) Comstock and Bob (Naomi) Comstock, both of Pekin; nieces and nephews and many cousins. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Lynn Tuffentsamer of Marquette Heights and father-in-law, Rick Tuffentsamer of San Antonio, Texas. Tyler was a journeyman with Sheet Metal Workers Local 1 in Peoria. Over the past four years, Tyler worked out of the union mostly for PIPCO and was very proud to have completed the apprenticeship program in April. Tyler was devoted to his family and friends. He loved people and was very giving of himself. Tyler enjoyed motorcycles and riding for charitable causes. Just prior to his accident, Tyler had just completed a motorcycle ride benefiting Toys for Tots. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Fantasy Football. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. | CRAINE, BETTY Pekin IL-Betty J. Craine, 88, of 1348 Georgeanne Drive passed away at 8:44 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Pekin Manor. Born Oct. 19, 1922, in Pike County, Ind., to Fred J. and Lola M. (Smith) Bakies, she married Robert H. Craine on Aug. 2, 1942, in Pekin. He died Jan. 21, 1988, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one son in infancy, David Richard Craine; and two brothers. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy J. (Gary) McCulley of Pekin; two grandchildren, Marci A. (Kevin) McDonald and Marc D. (Melinda) McCulley, both of Pekin; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Betty worked as a secretary for her daughter's insurance agency from 1988 until retiring in March 2010. She was a member of Celestial City Chapter 333, Order of the Eastern Star in Pekin. She was a former member of the Pekin Hospital League and Sunset Hills Country Club. Betty enjoyed making crafts, playing golf and formerly enjoyed bowling. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate.
