New Pekin Firman Begins Duty



   William "Ed" Burrell reported for duty with the Pekin Fire Department Tuesday.
   He has been assigned to Shift No 2 at Central Fire Station and has begun on duty training in basic firemanship, receiving instruction from members of his shift.  he will later enter into a formal training program under the auspices of Illinois Central College, as regulated by the State of Illinois Departmnt of Fire Service Standards and Education.
   He was formerly employed as an assembly line maintainer with the Continental Can Company in Peoria.
   Burrell and his wife (the former Cheryl LandiVittori of Pekin) make their home at 304 Herman Street, with their two childrn, Desiree, 9 and Bradley, 6.  Mr. and Mrs Burrell have been residents of Pekin since 1965 and the family attends Second Reformed Church of Pein.
   He attended Delavan schools, graduating from Delavan High school and is presently enrolled at I.C.C. where he intends to study for an Associate degree in fire science technology.
    Mrs. Burrell is employed by Dr. Robert Schmidt, optometrist, in Pekin.
