The Minier News, 13 Dec 1895

The funeral of Stephen O. Davison, who departed this life Wednesday night of last week, was largely attended Friday afternoon. A brief service was held at the home, the aged wife not being well enough to go to the church, where the public funeral was afterward conducted by Rev. Montgomery. The Masonic burial service was conducted by district deputy grandmaster L. Zinger of Pekin, who made it an exceedingly impressive ceremony.

The deceased was born in Bradford county, Pennsylvania, being 82 years, 6 months and 7 days old. He united with the Methodist church when a young man, and was a class leader in the church for some seven years. He was twice married and leaves a wife to whom he was united September 21, 1850, beside six children to mourn his loss. He was been in feeble health for a number of years, and has been confined to the home since July, when he had an attack of paralysis. He has been a resident of Minier more than twenty years, and before that lived in Tremont, Delavan, Eureka and Iowa. He had been a Mason for a great many years. The relatives, and especially the aged and infirm widow have the deepest sympathy of all.
