Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Hawk, 87
Died at St. Francis hospital in Peoria Sunday.
Services: Wednesday, November 22, at 2 p.m. in the Davis mortuary.
 
Pallbearers were : Arthur Rich, Orville Augsburger, Jesse Augsburger,
Dan Litwiller, Robert Anderson, and Henry Weihmeir.
 
Burial: Orendorff cemetery. Hopedale
Rebekah Lodge was in charge of graveside rites. Mrs. Hawks was a
charge member of Sionilis Rebekah of Hopedale.
 
Born: in Sandyville, Ohio, on June 6, 1863, a daughter of Gilbert and
Sussanna Klein Black. She married C. W. Hawk at Hopedale in 1904 and
he preceded her in death. Four sister and two brothers also are deceased.
 
Surviving: two nieces, Mrs. Bertha Van Drelzen and Mrs. Lenora Hopper, both of Peoria.

Christian W. Hawk passes away Nov. 24.
 
After a brief illness with heart trouble C. W. Hawk died at his home here last Wednesday evening, Nov. 24, at 8:30.
 
He was born at Gallipolis, OH, Oct. 18, 1862 and came to Illinois in 1879 when he engaged in farming near Tremont, where he lived for a
short time before coming to Hopedale in 1880 where he has resided ever since. For many years he was engaged in the thrashing business in this
vicinity and conducted a threshing outfit until just recently.
 
On Mar 27, 1904 he was united in marriage to Nettie Black of Hopedale who survives. Besides the widow, he is also survived by one brother,
August Hawk of Fortoria, Ohio; and two sisters, Carrie and Mary Hawk of Rodney, Ohio.
 
Mr. Hawk was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and of the Hopedale Lodge IOOF. He will be greatly missed by the citizens of this
community, where he has lived for so long.
 
Funeral services were held at the Hopedale M. E. Church Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. Van B. Sullins officiating. The ball bearers were F. W.
Fein, H. G. Schneider, Charles Smith, J. H. Crawford, J. R. Coggins and H. J. Oldham.
 
The hymns were sung by Alice McBride and Miss Mildred Maurer, accompanied by Mrs. Marjorie Bartelsmeyer at the piano. 
Internment was at Orendorff cemetery.

Paul Alan Homer Sr.   
   East Peoria - Paul Alan Homer Sr., 61, of East Peoria, Ill., passed away at 8:56 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
   Paul was born on Dec. 9, 1944, in Avon, Ill., the son of R. Carlyle and Mildred E. Hart Homer. He married Sharon R. Riley Lewis on June 10,
2000, in Morton, Ill. She survives.
   He is also survived by his mother of Avon; three sons, Paul A. Homer Jr. of Abingdon, Ill., Brett A. (Bridget) Homer of Avon and Jacob A.
Homer at home; three stepsons, Aaron T. Lewis of California, Mo., John (Lanette) Reed of Bloomington, Ill., and Jody (Erin) Reed of Fairview,
Ill.; three stepdaughters, Amber D. (Nathan) Randall of Washington, Ill., Autumn S. Lewis of California, Mo., and Alysa F. Lewis at home;
two sisters, Jan Weber of Shelbyville, Ill., and Jeannie (Larry) Goff of Abingdon; and 16 grandchildren.
   His father preceded him in death.
   Paul was the owner of Big Buck ATV Products and Paul's Gun Shop, both in East Peoria. He was a gunsmith for over 30 years.
   He attended Northwoods Community Church in Peoria.
   Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at his church, with the Rev. Tim Reist officiating. Visitation will be held two
hours prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in London Mills, Ill.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Jacob A. Homer Education Fund at Fondulac Banking Center in East Peoria.
   Arrangements are entrusted to Clary Funeral Consultants in Peoria.

Mrs. Margaret HAYES.

Mrs. Margaret HAYES, nee HOWARD, late of 114 Latrobe street, passed away late yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Claire Leber, 102 Greenlawn street.
She was aged 85 when called. She was born in Magnolia, Ill., November 11, 1843.

Her husband Solomon Hayes preceded her to the grave 23 years ago. Left to mourn her loss besides a large circle of friends are four daughters, Mrs. Clarie E. Leber, Mrs Alberta McCarry, Mrs Alice Thomas, all of Peoria,and Mrs. Adeline E. Miller, Washington, Ill. Two sisters, Mrs. Elmira Gerrard, Clarence, Mo., and John Anderson, Lee Center, Ill.,also survive along with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the South Side Funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. P. A. Lang, officiating.
Interment will be in the Glendale cemetery at Washington, Ill.

Mrs. Stella Harvey

Services for Mrs. Stella F. Harvey, 83, of 132 Johnson, East Peoria, were held Nov. 15 in East Peoria.  The Rev. Robert Swain officiated and burial was in Fondulac Cemetery. 
Mrs. Harvey, who worked at Proctor Endowment Home and in the East Peoria Community High School cafeteria,
died Nov. 11 at St. Francis Hospital where she had been a patient since Oct. 27.
A daughter of David and Laura Myers, she was born in Athens, Ill. July 16, 1888, and married Thomas J. Harvey in Peoria.

A resident of East Peoria 62 years, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, the W.S.C.S. and Naomi Circle of the church, Cloverleaf Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. 
She was a charter member and past president of VFW Post 2078 Auxiliary of East Peoria.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Henderson, two sons, Thomas J,. and Edward H., all of East Peoria; one sister, Mrs. Mary Clark of Springfield; one brother,
Tom Myers of Athens; and two grandchildren.  She was preceded in death (obit cut-off here)

Paul Harris
East Peoria - Paul Harris, 58, of Baker, Calif., formerly of East Peoria, died at 7:35 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 1991, at Barstow Hospital in
Barstow, Calif.
He was born Sept. 24, 1933, in Browning to Otto and Murine Bradley Harris.
He is survived by his parents of Pekin; three sons, Paul D. of Pekin, Richard of North Pekin and Brian of New Orleans; five daughters, Terri
Knobelock of East Peoria, Sheila Lancaster of New Orleans, Paula Harris of Peoria, Tina Lancaster of Topeka and Sherry Hill of Manito; two
brothers, Vern of Creve Coeur and Richard of Salmon, Idaho; one sister, Sherry Mudd of Pekin; and 22 grandchildren.
He worked for 18 years at the Dixon Fish Market in East Peoria.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schmidt-Haller Funeral Parlors in East Peoria, the Rev. Paul Martin officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral parlors. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday the Browning City Cemetery in Browning.

Etta M. Hayes
From The Delavan Times July 21, 1999

    Etta M. Hayes, 87, of Emden died at 4:54 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 1999,
in the emergency room at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
    Born October 14, 1911, in Emden to Cyrus and Anna Zimmer McCormick, she married Floyd E. Hayes on June 18, 1938, in Ashkum.  He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert of Emden and Stan of Los Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. James (Rita) Pavlacic of Peoria; three sisters,
Harriet Spangler and Carlynn Hamer, bother of Emden, and Margot Cross of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
One son, Floyd, and two brothers preceded her in death.
She was a teacher in Emden.  She also taught kindergarten at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden, where she was a member.
    Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at her church.  The Rev. Darby Lawrence officiated.  Burial was in Bethel Cemetery. 
 Holland & Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln had charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Emden Rescue, her church or the Luther Field Fund.

Gracie Hawkins

    Gracie Hawkins, 98, formerly of delavan, died at 1:41 a.m. Sunday, August 8, 1999, at Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg, Wisconsin,
where she was a resident. Born October 13, 1900, in Waukegan to Nathaniel and Maude Durbin, she married Christopher Clyde Hawkins
on January 8, 1920, in Palmer.  He died August 5, 1966, in Delavan.
Six Brothers, two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter also preceded  her in death.
Surviving are six sons of LaSalle, Fort Worth, Texas, Bella Vista, Arkansas, East Peoria, Santa Barbara, California, and Boscawen, New Hampshire;
one daughter of Baraboo, Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Delavan and its Altar and Rosary Society.  She also was a member of Delavan American Legion Auxiliary.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at her church.  The Rev. Edward Higgins will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday)
at Woolsey Funeral Home in Delavan, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Delavan.
Memorials may be made to Sauk County Health Care Center, 54555 Highway CH, Reedsburg, WI 53959, or to her church.

Services for Mrs. Mae Higginbotham, 82, of Havana, mother of Mrs. Nancy Mae Higham of Creve Coeur, were held Nov. 12 in Havana. 
The Rev. peter Borzeka officiated and burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery. 
Mrs. Higginbotham died Nov. 10 at Martin Manor Nursing Home.
Also surviving is another daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.

Robert Higgins
Pekin- Robert C. Higgins, 78, of Golden Arms Apartment at 343 S. Fourth, died at 10:30 am yesterday in Pekin Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at Abts Mortuary and S. Joseph's Catholic church. Burials will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
He was born in Chicago June 25, 1893, to George and Margaret Natterville Higgins. He married Alice Marie Lowry in St. Louis, Mo., Aug. 7, 1915.

Surviving are his widow, two daughters Mrs. Thomas (Jane) McManus of Peoria and Mrs. Joseph (Monette) Schackler of Pekin; six grandchildren
and two sisters: Mrs. Esther Kalstend of Lee Center and Mrs. Dorothy Fitzpatrickof St. Petersburg, Fla.. Three sons, a sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Higgins was a member of St. Joseph Church and past president of the Golden Arms Senior Citizens. He was a retired caterpillar Tractor company employee.

   PEKIN - Otto Verne Harris, 92, of 312 Park Ridge Lane died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, at Fondulac Health Care Center in East Peoria.
   Born June 22, 1903, in Browning to Oliver Perry and Mary Jane Markley Harris, he married Murine Bradley on June 4, 1931, in Rushville. She survives.
   Also surviving are two sons, Richard of Salmon, Idaho, and Verne E.of Creve Coeur; one daughter, Cherise L. Mudd of Pekin; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren. One son, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
   He was a barber in Browning for many years. He then was a self-employed commercial fisherman. He last worked for 10 years at Hiram Walker in Peoria.
   He was a member of Faith Christian Church in Washington. He was a member of AMVETS Post 69 in North Pekin.
   Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Schmidt-Haller Funeral Parlors in East Peoria. The Revs. David Mudd and John King will officiate.
Visitation will be two hours before services at the funeral parlors. Burial will be in Browning Cemetery.   Memorials may be made to his church.

L. Marie Hosford
   MORTON - L. Marie Hosford, 81, of Morton Health Care Center, formerly of 100 N. 13th St., Pekin, died at 3:43 a.m. Friday, April 16, 1993, in the Methodist Medical Center emergency room.
   She was born Nov. 22, 1911, in Brown County to John L. and Adaline R. Ward Bowman.   Surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
   She worked for Little Star Cleaners in Pekin for many years, retiring in 1976.
   Cremation will be accorded, and burial of ashes will be in Gilliat {Gillette} Cemetery in Schuyler County. Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin is in charge of arrangements.

Aged Armington Women Dies Tues.
Armington, March 25-
Mrs. Matila HAINLINE died at her home here yesterday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock after a few days' illness. She was 71 years old at the time of her death.
At the age of six months, she came to Illinois in a covered wagon with her parents and has spent most of her life in this community. Fifty-one years ago on Feb. 11 she was united in marriage to Mathis S. HAINLINE of the city.

They celebrated their 50th anniversary last year with a reception at their home here.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Mountjoy of near Minier and one sister, Mrs. Eva Leach of Devoe, Kas.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
