DeBOER, RICHARD
Richard Victor DeBoer, 62, of 6732 Bass Road died at 4:34 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1993, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Born Jan. 22, 1931, in Pekin to Victor and Irene Campbell DeBoer, he married Charlene L. Watkins on Nov. 19, 1955, in Peoria. She died Aug. 20, 1988. He later married Arda L. Nellos on April 12, 1990, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Raymond R. of Pekin; two daughters, Terry DeBoer and Tracy DeBoer, both of Austin, Texas.; and three grandchildren. One sister preceded him in death. He was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America for 19 years, retiring in 1987 after serving as a business agent for Local 644 of Pekin and for Central Illinois District Council of Carpenters and Joiners for 14 years. He also was a member of Mid-Central Illinois District Council of Carpenters and Joiners. A 19-year member of the Air National Guard unit at Greater Peoria Regional Airport, he was a member of Pekin Moose Lodge 916, Pekin Eagles Lodge 1869 and Bartonville American Legion Post 979. He also was a member Ducks Unlimited, Tri-County Duck and Goose Club and National Rifle Association. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pekin. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Curt Keller will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

DeBOER, LUCY
Lucy O. DeBoer, 82, of 1012 Lincoln St. died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 1992, at Pekin Hospital. Born May 10, 1910, in rural Magnolia to Louis Carl and Minnie Ernestina Domdey Bentlin, she married Harry B. DeBoer on July 9, 1950, in Toluca. He died Aug. 5, 1957. Five brothers and seven sisters also preceded her in death. Surviving are one stepson, Gerold of Galena; one stepdaughter, Doris Jean Bowlby of Belleville; and several nieces and nephews. She taught school in the Toluca area and worked at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 34 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Toluca. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. William Callister will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

DeBOER, DORIS
Doris M. DeBoer, 74, of 89 Deville Ave., South Gate Estates, Bloomington, formerly of Pekin, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 1992, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born Feb. 11, 1918, in Green Valley to John and Martha Watson Lingle, she married Henry J. DeBoer on Aug. 23, 1936, in Green Valley. He died Dec. 17, 1986, in Bloomington. Three brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Ronald J. of East Peoria; two daughters, Patricia Stephenson of Normal and Evelyn Flanagan of Bloomington; five grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. She worked as a nurse's aide for many years at Pekin Hospital and worked at Baby Fold in Normal until her retirement. She was a member St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary in Bloomington and Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington. While living in Pekin she was a member of the Second Reformed Church, was active in its youth group and also served as Sunday school superintendent for many years. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Second Reformed Church, Pekin. The Revs. Philip Queen and Ralph Cordes will officiate and burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Woolsey Funeral Home, Pekin, and one hour prior to services at her church, Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Heart House in Eureka.

Pekin IL- Fred I. Eertmoed, 93, of 12429 S. 14th St. died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at Pekin Hospital. Born May 1, 1906, in Pekin to Fred A. and Emma VonBoeckman Eertmoed, he married Florence E. Hull on Sept. 26, 1926, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Fred (Sally) Eertmoed of Pekin; one daughter, Mrs. James (Shirley) Baker of Meredosia; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Francis (Irma) Cooper of Pekin and Mrs. William (Doris) Falkingham of Brighton, Colo.; and two brothers, Charles Eertmoed of Pekin and Robert (Lindy) Eertmoed of Nevada. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Robert Wayne and James Richard; seven brothers and three sisters. An employee of Commonwealth Edison Co. at the Powerton Station for 38 years, he retired as a turbine room operator in 1966. He also prepared income tax returns and assisted in maintaining fishing activities at Luttiken Lakes in rural Pekin for many years. He was a member of the Powerton Playboys. A member of Second Reformed Church, he served as a deacon and elder in the consistory. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at his church. The Revs. Harmon Heeg and Ralph Cordes will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Noel-Henderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. EERTMOED, LOUIS
Pekin IL- Louis R. Eertmoed Sr., 81, of 1302 S. Ninth died at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at Pekin Hospital. Born Aug. 21, 1916, in Pekin to Fred and Emma VonBoeckman Eertmoed, he married Virginia V. Bassett in Fort Madison, Iowa. Surviving are three sons, Lloyd Eertmoed, Louis Eertmoed Jr. and Larry Ertmoed, and one daughter, Beverly Gray, all of Pekin; three brothers, Fred and Charles, both of Pekin, and Lindy of Las Vegas; two sisters, Irma Cooper of Pekin and Doris Falkingham of Brighton, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Six brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. He worked for PS Olt Game Calls from 1940 to 1952 and was a part-time security officer for UFS Savings Center. He was a deputy sheriff for the Tazewell County Sheriff's Department from 1952 until retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Illinois Police Association. He was a member of Mohammed Temple, Shrine; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; and Second Reformed Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Woolsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Cordes will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. EERTMOED, HARRY
Pekin IL- Harry W. Eertmoed, 72, of 827 Catherine St. died at 5:28 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 1992, at Pekin Hospital. Born April 17, 1920, in Pekin to Fred A. and Irma "Emma" Von Boeckmann Eertmoed, he married Lois Scogin on Sept. 15, 1946, in Pekin. She survives along with one son, Tom G. of Peoria; one daughter, Christie Ward of Pekin; four brothers, Fred, Louie, Charles, all of Pekin, and Robert Lindy of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sisters, Mae Tibbs and Irma Cooper, both of Pekin, and Doris Falkingham of Brighton, Colo.; and one grandson. Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He was a firefighter with the Pekin Fire Department for 22 years before retiring in 1974. A World War II and Korean War Marine Corps veteran, he was a member of Second Reformed Church in Pekin, International Order of Foresters and Disabled American Veterans. He also played Santa Claus for 25 years for the children of Pekin. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his church. The Rev. Harmon Hegg will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m Monday at Abts Mortuary and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. EERTMOED, JENNESS
Pekin IL- Jenness W. Eertmoed, 84, of 1902-A, Third Ave., Sterling, formerly of Pekin, died at 9:42 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 1992, at Sterling Care Center in Sterling. She was born Jan. 31, 1908, in Pekin to W. and Jenny Hancock Eertmoed. She is survived by four cousins, Walter Hancock and Allen Eertmoed, both of Pekin, Ted Eertmoed of Tremont and Henrietta Peterson of Wisconsin. A 1930 graduate of Illinois State University, she was employed for 25 years as a social worker at Hines Veterans Hospital in Maywood, and for 20 years in New York City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Noel-Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin, where visitation will begin one hour earlier. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin.

Pekin IL- Allen B. Ertmoed, 76, of Pekin Manor, formerly of 1527 Henrietta St., died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1992, at Pekin Hospital. Born June 14, 1916, in Pekin to Albert B. and Theda Groenhagen Ertmoed, he married Florence Ida Herren on Sept. 23, 1939, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are three brothers, Theodore "Ted" of Tremont, Marion "Bud" of Sciota and Robert of Pekin; and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Henrietta) Petersen of Hancock, Wis. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. He was a carpenter for O. Frank Heinz Construction Co. in Peoria for 23 years, retiring in August 1978. He was a member of Carpenters Local 183 in Peoria and served with the Seabees during World War II. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Charles W. Sensel will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pekin IL- Florence I. Ertmoed, 78, formerly of 1527 Henrietta died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 1992, at Beechwood Health Care Center. Born June 22, 1914, in Pekin to Henry W. and Mary Sophia Lauss Herren, she married Allen B. Ertmoed on Sept. 23, 1939, in Pekin. He died Sept. 16, 1992. One brother and one sister also preceded her in death. Surviving are four sisters, Dorothy Young, Louise Creglow, Virginia Mathias and Mrs. Marvin (Pauline) Bolson, all of Pekin. She worked at American Distilling Co. from 1932 to 1942. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Pekin IL- Arthur H. Ertmoed, 76, of Crescent City, Fla., formerly of Pekin, died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 1992, at his home. Born Feb. 20, 1916, in Pekin to John and Emma Eller Ertmoed, he married Ruth Chatman. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Karl M. Spiker of Denver, Colo., and Robert A. Ertmoed of Hawaii; three daughters, Darlene Cornelius and Sharon Neilson, both of Peoria, and Marla Ijames of Crescent City; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Mann of Largo, Fla. He was a retired machinist in Colorado before moving to Crescent City, where he resided 11 years. He was a member of the Church of God in Crescent City, where memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Louis E. O'Steen will officiate. Cremation will be accorded. Pekin IL- The Funeral Of Mary (Hofferbert) Cox, 81, of 916 S. Vale St., Bloomington, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Bert L. Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Friday at the memorial home. She died at 5:16 p.m. Monday (March 17, 1997) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to Bloomington Public Library for the purchase of mystery books. Survivors include one daughter, Janet Huskisson, Bloomington; and one son, James C. Cox, Scottsdale, Ariz. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Andrew and Sara Cox of Scottsdale. Mrs. Cox was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Pekin, the daughter of Philip A. and Anna Frieda Herren Hofferbert. She married Charles L. Cox on June 10, 1941, in Pekin. He died July 21, 1989. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. She obtained her teaching certificate from Western Illinois University and was a former elementary school teacher in Pekin. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, and Eastern Star, Bloomington, Lodge 50.

Pekin IL- Opal A. Tosi Krakos 83 of 109 Reservoir Road died at 1:40 a.m. Thursday, December 09, 1999, at her residence. Born July 21, 1916, in Peoria to George W. and Frieda H. Lipke Lowe, she married Marion "Hooks" Tosi in September 1934 in Pekin. He died June 11, 1955, in Pekin. She later married Andrew Krakos on July 05, 1964, in Kewanee. He died March 11, 1967, in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by one grandson and two sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Geri) Hamilton and Mrs. Kenneth (Dianna "Tootie") Luthy, both of Pekin; one son, Lyle "Buck" (and Mary Lou) Tosi of Pekin; six grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Garnetta Harmon of Peoria. She owned and operated Andy's Drive-in Diner in Pekin, retiring in 1997. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Council of Women. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at her church. The Rev. Blaine DAcci will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Pekin IL- Richard F. "Kip" Wolfer 85 of 1411 N. Fifth St. died at 5:37 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 1998, at Pekin Hospital. Born December 17, 1912, in Pekin to John Edgar and Wilhelmina Koobs Wolfer, he married Lenora A. Rose on August 18, 1934, in Oak Park. She died November 06, 1996, in Pekin. Eight brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death. Surviving are four daughters, Sharron Murray of Denver, Lynn Schleder and Mrs. Dr. Frank (Jeanne) Benningfield, both of Peoria, and Mrs. Rod (Christy) Loy of Pontiac; one brother, Dr. George of Michigan; three sisters, Muriel Buchanan of Pekin, Minnie Wilson of Florida and Marjorie Schiberl of Chicago; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was superintendent of aluminization at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. in Bartonville for 40 years, where he perfected the process of aluminizing galvanized wire. He was a member of First Christian Church of Pekin, where he served as deacon. He also was a member of Empire Masonic Lodge 126, AF&AM. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Noel-Henderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Brite will officiate. Visitation will be two hours before services at the funeral home. Pekin IL- Lenora Ann "Hootie" Wolfer 82 of 1411 N. Fifth St. died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, November 06, 1996, at her residence. Born February 22, 1914, in Pekin to George Phillip and Mollie Cummings Roos, she married Richard F. Wolfer on August 18, 1934, in Oak Park. He survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Lynn Schleder and Jeanne Bemingfield, both of Peoria, Sharron Murry of Dallas, Texas, and Christy Loy of Pontiac; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers. She was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin. She was a life member of the Pekin Hospital Auxiliary. Pekin IL- Carl H. Wolfer Sr 77 of 1502 Broadway Road died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 1993, at Pekin Hospital. Born November 10, 1916, in Pekin to John Edgar and Wilhelmina Koobs Wolfer Sr., he married Kathryn V. Hieser on May 24, 1941, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Carl H. Jr. of Pekin; three daughters, Rosemary A. Wolfer and Marjorie L. Wolfer, both of Pekin, and Mrs. Brian (Debra L.) Nelson of Irvine, Calif.; three sisters, Muriel Buchanan of Pekin, Mrs. George (Minnie) Wilson of Inverness, Fla., and Margy Schieberl of Darien; two brothers, Dr. George K. of Edmore, Mich., and Richard F. "Kip" of Pekin; and one granddaughter. Seven brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He worked at Corn Products Corp. in Pekin. He then owned Wolfer's Appliances in Pekin for more than 45 years. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of William Schaefer American Legion Post 44, Empire Masonic Lodge 126, AF&AM; and Pekin Moose Lodge 916. He was an honorary member of Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 105, in Pekin. He was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church of rural Pekin. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Arlin Claasen will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Pekin IL- Norman E. Wolfer 82 of 319 S. Fourth St. died at 6:10 a.m. Friday, June 11, 1993, at Pekin Hospital. Born March 01, 1911 in Pekin to John Edgar and Wilhelmina Koobs Wolfer Sr., he married Lorraine H. Conrad on June 01, 1935, in Minier. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Robert C. of Lockport; two daughters, Mrs. Dan (Norma S.) Jurgens of Glen Ellyn and Mrs. Jay (Wilma L.) Gillan of Dunlap; three brothers, Richard F. "Kip" and Carl H., both of Pekin, and Dr. George K. of Edmore, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Muriel) Buchanan of Pekin, Mrs. George (Minnie) Wilson of Inverness, Fla., and Margy Schieberl of Hinsdale; and eight grandchildren. Seven brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He owned Wolfer Speedy Delivery from 1930 to 1961, and worked as a contract mail carrier. He was mayor of Pekin from 1955 to 1959. A coin dealer, he founded Tazewell Numismatic Society, where he served as its first president. He was a 50-year member of Empire Masonic Lodge 126, AF&AM, where he was past master. He was a 50-year and life member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; and Mohammed Temple, Shrine. He was a member of Celestial City Chapter 333 of the Order of Eastern Star; Victoria White Shrine 83; and the Past Masters Club. He was an honorary member of Pekin Jaycees. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Hubert L. Entwisle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Pekin IL- Thomas Jefferson Graffis Sr., 72, of 1004 Augusta St. died at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Danville. Born July 4, 1926, in Pekin to Levi and Lela Vanatten Graffis, he married Wilma Crafton in November of 1951 in Pekin. Surviving are one son, Thomas Jr. of Douglas, Wyo.; one daughter, Linda Graffis of Manito; two brothers, Merl and Cliff, both of Pekin; and three sisters, Pearl Hall of Ooltewah , Tenn., Jane Fishter of Adelanto , Calif., and Imogene Liedtke of Plymouth, Wis. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He formerly worked for Fort & Shock Chrysler-Plymouth, Scherer Buick and Pekin Mall. He was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Canton. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Noel-Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. Pastor Birger Draget will officiate. Pekin IL- Gary Lynn Lawson, 47, of 220 D St., Rosenberg Acres subdivision, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1993, at his home. Born Sept. 20, 1945, in Rogersville, Tenn., to Carl E. and Mary K. Justus Lawson, he married Phyllis C. Strange on Dec. 24, 1965, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are his parents, three daughters, Carol Edwards, Cathy Lawson and Carri Lawson, and two sons, Kenneth and Kevin, all of Pekin; three brothers, Alan of Walnut, Calif., Paul of Pekin and Owen of Creve Coeur; five sisters, Donna Duthoo of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Lois Powell of Pekin, Sally Loy of Onalaska, Texas, Cynthia Sahutski of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Rebecca McAuliffe of Beltsville, Md.; eight grandchildren; and grandmother, Barsha Goodman of Rogersville. He had worked at Caterpillar Inc. since 1966 and was an assembler in Building SS in East Peoria. He served in the Army for three years and was a member of Pekin Eagles Lodge. Tremont IL- Helen M. Eertmoed, 84, of Tremont died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at Pekin Hospital. Born May 3, 1914, in Holton, Wis., to Bruno and Alma Luddecke Muehler, she married Theodore "Ted" Eertmoed on April 14, 1935, in Pekin. He died Nov. 25, 1995. Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Judy) Ropp of Tremont; one son, Ronald of Dallas; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. Tremont IL- Theodore B. "Ted" Eertmoed 84 of 605 E. South St. died at 5:03 a.m. Saturday November 25, 1995 in the emergency room at Pekin Hospital. Born July 15, 1911 in Pekin to Albert and Theda Eertmoed, he married Helen M. Muehler on April 14, 1935 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Ronald T. of Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Judy) Ropp of Tremont; two brothers, Robert of Pekin and Marion of Macomb; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death. He was a self-employed general building contractor in Tremont until 1978. He then founded Tremont Hunting Blind Co., which he owned and operated until the time of his death. He was a member of Carpenters Local 644 in Pekin. He also was a member of Tremont Lions Club and Tremont Masonic Lodge 462. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Davis Mortuary in Tremont. The Rev. Keith Ferguson will officiate. Pekin IL- A. Edwardine Klien, 77, of Pekin died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at Rose Garden Care Center in Peoria Heights. Born Sept. 20, 1922, in Pekin to Edward H. and Lillie May Pfeiffer Wetzel, she married Ralph R. Klien on June 10, 1942, in Pekin. He died Oct. 21, 1977. She also was preceded in death by two sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy (and Gary) Affolter of Pekin; one son, Ronald (and Peggy) of Pekin; six grandchild ren; and one brother, Art Wetzel of Florida. She formerly worked as a secretary for Pekin School District 108 for several years. She was a member of the Pekin Hospital Auxiliary and was a volunteer for the Crisis Line. She also was a nursing home advocate for the Mental Health Association of Illinois Valley, which awarded her the Maude Saylor Volunteer of the Year award in 1992. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin and its Rebecca-Sarah Circle. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at her church. The Revs. Terry Edele and Judy Doyle will officiate. Pekin IL- Helen J. Hoffman, 100, formerly of Pekin, died at 8:55 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, at ManorCare at Riverview in East Peoria, where she was a resident. Born Oct. 12, 1904, in Rockford to Walter S. and Maude Henry Lawson, she married Ernest P. Hoffman on Feb. 12, 1931, in Pekin. He died Feb. 10, 1974. She had attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville and Bradley University in Peoria. She had taught school. She formerly was a member of the Pekin War Board and the Pekin Women's Club Board. She had been president of the YWCA Board, Tazewell County League of Women Voters, P.E.O. Illinois Chapter GW, and the Dirksen Center Guild. She also was a member of the Altrusa Club and Youth Farm League. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pekin, where she served as its financial secretary for several years. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Lakeside Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Abts Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to her church, YWCA or any charity.

Walker, both of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Peggy) Tinsley and Mrs. Don (Shirley) Stone, both of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. One son, Steven, one brother, one sister and one granddaughter preceded her in death. She worked at Barbara's Books and the Smock Shop in Pekin, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Pekin. She was a Brownie leader and was active in the Jefferson School Mother's Club. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at her church, the Rev. Pekin IL- E. Ferne Hall, 88, of Hallmark House Nursing Center, formerly of 337 Illinois St., died at 9:13 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1995, at Pekin Hospital emergency room. Born Feb. 15, 1907, in Beason to John S. and Anna Mariah Powley Carlson, she married Benjamin Henry Hall on Sept. 1, 1933, in Lincoln. He died Sept. 15, 1964. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, John B. "Jack," and one daughter, Mrs. Duane (Barbara J.) Hill, both of Pekin; two sisters, Hazel L. Liesman of Newnan, Ga., and June L. Raquet of Decatur; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She graduated from Cook County Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago in 1930. She was a registered nurse at Lincoln State Hospital until 1946. Before her training, she was an attendant at Lincoln State Hospital for two years. She was a supervising nurse at Peoria State Hospital in Bartonville, where she was instrumental in planning Unit 2 of psychiatric nursing in 1965. She was in charge of psychiatric nursing until retiring in 1967. She was a life member of Pekin Hospital Auxiliary and Illinois State Employees Association Retirees. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Rachel-Sarah Circle, Tri-M Adult Sunday school class and the Friendship Club, all at the church. She was a council member of Bethel 55, Job's Daughters in Pekin. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at her church. The Rev. Charles Werner Sensel will officiate. Born Oct. 4, 1919, in rural Atlanta, Ill., to Ray E. and Ida Crihfield Thompson, she married Ramon H. Mason on July 3, 1943, in Atlanta. He survives. She received her bachelor's degree in accountancy in 1940 from the University of Illinois, where she was a member of Phi Chi Theta and a life member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association. She worked for George Rossetter accounting firm in Chicago. She later was an accountant for Eminence Grain and Coal Co. in Atlanta. She was a 40-year member and past president of Chapter EE, PEO Sisterhood. She was a member of Peoria Symphony Guild and Tazewell County Farm Bureau. She was a life member of Peoria YWCA and Kennel Lake Sportsmen's Club. She was a charter member of Lakeview Museum of Arts and Sciences in Peoria. A member of American Field Service, Morton Chapter, she and her family hosted Morton's first AFS foreign-exchange student. She served on the Morton Historical Society and was a volunteer for We Care Inc. She was a member and former treasurer of Community United Church of Christ in Morton, where she served as president of its women's fellowship, Semper Fidelis, and several church boards. She was active in the Morton Christian Women's Club and her church's Circle of Concern ministry to the sick and shut- ins. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at her church. The Rev. He was preceded in death by one brother. He was a machinist at Caterpillar Inc. for 34 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 974 and the Moose Lodge 506. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, where services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Mike Cooper will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stewart Harmony Cemetery near Cazenovia. OATES, HENRY
East Peoria IL- Henry D. Oates, 66, of Fondulac Woods Health Care Center died at 9:25 p.m. Monday, March 9, 1998, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born July 31, 1931, in Pekin to Henry D. and Grace E. Hereford Oates, he married Margaret Calvert on July 25, 1982, in East Peoria. She died Dec. 24, 1990, in Peoria. One brother; his stepfather, Ross Brown; and two stepsisters also preceded him in death. Surviving are his mother, one brother, Donald, and one sister, Barbara Clemons, all of Pekin. He worked at service stations in the Peoria area for many years and for the Pekin street department. He volunteered at Sadie's Cafe in Peoria. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Davison-Fulton Western Chapel, Peoria. The Rev. Dr. R. David Goodell will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the chapel. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria. Memorials may be made to Laura's Good Times Cafe.

Pekin IL- Jacob Goetze, 84, of 1735 Valle Vista Blvd. died at 10:02 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 1998, at Hallmark House Nursing Center. Born September 15, 1913, in Hollis Township, Peoria County, to Frederick and Lena Ries Goetze, he married Luverne L. King on March 24, 1936, in Bartonville. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Lowell of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two daughters, Joyce Hillyer of Pekin and Susan King of South Glastonbury, Conneticut; one sister, Hazel Farlow of Pekin; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. Two brothers, one sister and one stepgranddaughter preceded him in death. He was an electrician at Commonwealth Edison Powerton Station for 36 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Powerton Playboys. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church. He was a former member of Pekin Elks Lodge 1271, Sunset Hills Country Club, Mr. and Mrs. Dance Club and YMCA Caper Club of Peoria. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at his church. The Rev. Robert Scott will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Noel-Henderson Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Springlake Cemetery, Manito. Van Buren Snider, she married Curtis W. Howell on July 03, 1976, in Manito. He survives. Also surviving are her father and stepmother, Fred and Phyllis J. Snider of South Pekin; one daughter, Mrs. Bryan (Wendy L.) Lang of North Pekin; one brother, Greg B. Snider of South Pekin; three sisters, Mrs. Gaylen (Cheryl A.) Edwards and Teri L. Snider, both of South Pekin, and Mrs. Randy (Connie S.) Hency of Jackson, Missouri; and one grandson. Her mother preceded her in death. She attended South Pekin Southern Baptist Church. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Isaac Young will officiate. Visitation will be two hours before services at the chapel. Born September 10, 1915, in Pekin to Fred V. and Henrietta Henricks Baysinger, she married Ferdinand C. "Bus" Arnett on March 11, 1933, in Pekin. He died March 20, 1964, in Pekin. One great-granddaughter also preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Michael K. of Noblesville, Indiana, and Patrick H. and Tim C., both of Pekin; eight daughters, Moodene Whitmore of Pekin, Mrs. Lyle (Carol) Dorsey of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Jim (Vivian) Burress and Mrs. Delbert (Judy) Courtright, both of Pekin, Mrs. Marvin (Sue) Terrill of Half Way, Missouri, Mrs. Jerry (Sally) Parker of Creve Coeur, and Mrs. Randy (Joyce) Bateman and Janice Arnett, both of Broomfield, Colorado; four brothers, Dr. Verlin G. Baysinger of East Peoria, James Baysinger of Pekin, Donald Baysinger of Alpha and Raymond Baysinger of Mesa, Arizona; four sisters, Helen Landrith of Morton, Eloise Hawkins of South Pekin, Mrs. James (Shirley) Ary of Chillicothe and Maxine Mefford of Pekin; 35 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She retired in 1980 as a housekeeping supervisor from Pekin Hospital, where she worked for 10 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin. Born May 28, 1945, in Pekin to Loren C. and Caralena Behrends Arnett Sr., he married Margo S. Lutes on April 02, 1967, in Pekin. She died September 16, 1990. He married Connie J. Moser on July 26, 1992, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Arnett Sr. of Iron River, Michigan; one daughter, Mrs. Todd (Cherese) McAde of Okinawa; two sons, Matthew and Andrew, both of Pekin; one stepdaughter, Joanna Moser of Pekin; six sisters, Sharon K. Hielman of Princeville, Sheila D. Tomlinson, Sheryl A. Timiran, Barbara J. Friend and Betty S. Draher, all of Pekin, and Bonnie L. Carr of North Pekin; one brother, Kenneth D. of Pekin; and one grandson. His mother and one sister preceded him in death. He was co-owner of Arnett Grocery Store in Pekin. He also was a car salesman for Scherer Buick Pontiac Isuzu in North Pekin. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran, serving from 1966 to 1967. Hamilton of Creve Coeur and Mrs. Earl (Karen) Lee of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; two sisters, Lola Hall of Decatur and Berneice Denton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Washington IL- William E. Arnett, 83, of Nilwood, whose son lives in Washington, died at 7:05 a.m. Friday, August 09, 1991, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He is survived by two sons, John E. "Jack" of Washington and Charles W. of Chesterfield; two daughters, Mrs. James (M. Eloise) Turner of Schaumburg and Mrs. Ray (Sarah G.) Lewis of Girard; one brother, Lorrin and one sister, Velma Duckels, both of Carlinville; 20 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred M. Custer Arnett, one son, William E. Jr., and one daughter, Janet Spoor. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Charity Southern Baptist Church in rural Carlinville, the Rev. Randy Dempsay officiating. SMITH, DONALD R
Pekin IL- Funeral services for Donald R Smith 48 of 801 S Third Street will be conducted at 1:30 pm Monday in Abts Mortuary.  Rev. John Ohner, OSA of the St Joseph Church pastoral team will officiate.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call at Abts from 7 until 9 pm Sunday.  Mr Smith died at 12:30 pm Friday November 04 1977 in Pekin Hospital where he had been a patient for 10 days.  He had been in ill health the past four months.  He was known to the area citizens band hobbyists as "Brown Bus".  Born at Hartford on August 27 1929, he was the son of Harry and Ida Dawson Smith.  His marriage to Dorotheia L Strope occurred October 24 1954 at Hernando Mississippi.  Mr Smith was employed by C.F. Helmig Trucking and Excavating Company.  He was a captain and chief of the Pekin Civil Defense Unit.  Surviving are his wife; his mother Mrs. Ida Cletcher of South Roxana; three sons, Dale, Darren and Dana, all at home; two daughters, Dawn and Deana, also at home; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Starns of Edwardsville and Mrs. Josephine Cloniger of Alton.  He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers and one sister.

Pekin IL- Francis H. Pollock 62 of 1414 Fenley St. died at 5:35 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 1993, at his home. Born March 08, 1931, in Sherburne, N.Y., to Francis O. and Mildred P. Wilcox Pollock, he married Jane A. MacDonald on September 02, 1951, in Sherburne. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Danny W. of Pekin; twin daughters, Mrs. Mark (Melanie J.) Jobe of Marquette Heights and Melodie A. Pollock of Peoria Heights; two brothers, Harvey P. of Norwich, N.Y., and George R. of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Dorothy G. Wells of Syracuse, N.Y., and Betty I. Barker of Sherburne; and five grandsons. One sister preceded him in death. He was a radio operator in the Army during the Korean War. He received the Korean, United Nations and National Defense service medals. He was a CNC operator at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria since 1970. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union Local 974. He was member of Creve Coeur American Legion Post 1234. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Paul F. Saunders will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be accorded by Creve Coeur American Legion.
