note from host: I am dedicating the Prairie Rest Cemetery pages to the memory of Harry & Blanche Whitman Burrell. Harry was caretaker of this cemetery for many years.  I have many fond memories of my grandparents working  to keep this cemetery beautiful.  I remember Harry riding his tractor mowing, Blanche pulling weeds around stones, and bringing Harry lunch.  He took pride in his work at the cemetery.  While he may have technically been the one bringing  in the paycheck for his work at Prairie Rest, she worked just as hard as he did, working right along with him.  They were both hard workers, he never officially retired from working.  He was caretaker of this cemetery, still, when he died at age 84 in 1990.  Blanche died at the age of 97, in October of 2007.  If you see  Peonies in this cemetery, they're courtesy of Blanche.  For more on Harry & Blanche Burrell, see their biography
