ANNABELL ANN CALVIN, 90, Pebble Beach Boulevard, Orlando, died Thursday, Nov. 16. Mrs. Calvin was a retired motel owner. Born in Saratoga, Ill., she moved to Central Florida in 1980. Survivor: husband, Harve, Orlando. Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home-Conway Chapel, Orlando. --Orlando Sentinel, The (FL) - November 19, 2000 Dongola, IL--Died at her home in Dongola Tuesday March 18, Miss Jessie W. COPELAND of quick consumption. The funeral was preached at the Baptist church on Wednesday morning by Rev. S. L. CARTER. The remains were followed to their resting place by a large concourse of friends and relatives. Jessie has always been a consistent Christian, lived a noble life and will long be remembered by her many loving friends. The grave was beautifully lined with ever greens robbing it of its dreariness. Then think of her whose grief is ___ As one not lost-but gone before. Dongola, IL-- CLINTON DUCKWORTH, 65, of Dongola died at 3:16 a.m. Monday (March 15, 1999) at the Department of Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Marion. Funeral services have been held. Burial was in Meisenheimer Cemetery, Dongola. Spence, in Anna, aged 51 years and was buried in Anna Cemetery. She left four children, Albert Spence of St. Louis, E. R. Spence of Anna, Robert Spence of Chicago, and Carrie Henley, age 12 years. Mrs. MARY JORDAN, age 98 years, died at the residence of her son in Mill Creek 4 Jan 1879. Dongola, IL--Died, June 16, Mrs. K. KARRAKER, wife of Denis KARRAKER, aged about 60 years. She was born in North Carolina and came up to this country when young. She leaves a host of friends to mourn her loss. She was a member of the Christian church. LENTZ, aged 21 years, 6 months and 28 days. Interment in the city cemetery. --THE TALK, June 21, 1889, contributed by Shauna Williams. Cobden, IL--Died, Thursday, Oct. 25, at Dongola, MRS. MINNIE LITTLE, aged 26 years, 7 months and 11 days, wife of James A. LITTLE. She was a woman beloved by all who knew her and enjoying the respect and esteem of all who with whom she came in contact. It is hard to understand why one so well fitted to live as an example whom others might follow, should be taken away just in the prime of life. But He, who doeth all things well and Whom she was a firm believer, called, and though loth to leave this world with its many endearments, she trustingly placed her hand in His and followed. She was a member of the Alto Pass Congregational church, having united with that body soon after its organization. The bereaved husband has the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community. Funeral from the Cobden Congregational church, Saturday, Oct. 27, and interment in Cobden cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by friends from Alto Pass, Cobden and Dongola. --THE TALK, Nov 2, 1888, contributed by Shauna Williams. Western Saratoga--Died, on the 27th inst, at the residence of James KEITH, Grandma LOYD. She had been a sufferer for many years with dropsy. She was about 70 years of age. She was a devoted Christian. Her many friends and kindred can be comforted when they remember that while it was earth's loss, it is Heaven's gain. Cobden, IL--Mrs. MARTHA ANN MAXWELL died Oct 29, 1888, age 48 years. She was buried at Toledo (Elco). --THE TALK, Nov 2, 1888, contributed by Shauna Williams. Mt. Pleasant, IL--Died, on the 6th inst., WM. MCINTIRE, of consumption. He had been a partial cripple for many years, the result of a fall from a wagon, but he worked hard at his trade of blacksmith and supported a large family who are left destitute by his death. His neighbors were very kind during his long illness. Deceased was about thirty eight years of age. Interment at McGinnis cemetery. --THE TALK, March 21, 1890, contributed by Shauna Williams. Oklahoma City, OK--OLIVER, DAVID J., 84 yr. old, OKC resident died Monday. Born Jan. 19, 1900 in Jonesboro IL., the son of Charles and Ada Oliver. Mr. Oliver was a retired business manager for United Oil Well Service in Caracas Venezuela South America. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and a host of relatives and friends. Memorial services will be at 11am Thursday, in the Chapel, directed by Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper. --Daily Oklahoman, The (Oklahoma City, OK) - September 26, 1984 Alto Pass, IL--Died, Wednesday night, March 12, of la grippe, complicated with pneumonia, Mrs. W. QUEEN, died at her home about four miles north of Alto, Saturday, June 15, of consumption, aged about 50 years. --THE TALK, June 21, 1889, contributed by Shauna Williams. JAMES LEE ROBINSON died 9 Feb 1897 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. R. Spence, in Anna, age 59 years, 4 months, 9days, and was buried in Anna Cemetery. He was born in North Carolina and came to Anna in 1875. He left five children, Walter Robinson, William "Will" Robinson, medical student in St. Louis, Frank Robinson, Mrs. E. R. Spence, and Minnie Robinson. His wife died 12 years ago. He was the uncle of Dr. Luther Robinson of Ullin, Pulaski County. Cobden, IL--Died Friday, Sept __, 1888 ARTHUR T.; s/o A. JACOB SCHAFFER, old settler in the German settlement south of Jonesboro, brother to Fred Schaffer of Jonesboro, died 24 Nov 1889, and was buried in Kornthal Cemetery. Cobden, IL--Died, Tuesday, Oct. 30, MRS. ROSA SCHLITTLER, aged 55 years, 8 months and 8 days, wife of F. SCHLITTLER, after a long and severe illness. She was a woman of quiet but very kindly disposition and very much attached to home. Interment in Cobden Cemetery, Thursday, Nov. 1. --THE TALK, Nov 2, 1888, contributed by Shauna Williams. CHARLES EVERET SHAFFER, son of Frederick and Mary Shaffer, aged 1 year, 5 months, died 10 Jan 1881. Mrs. W. W. SHEFFER died 24 Mar 1893 at her home three miles south of Dongola, aged 37 years. She left a husband and eight children. Infant child of W. W. Sheffer died 21 Apr 1893. Water Valley, IL--Died, at the family residence, March 15th, of typhoid pneumonia, MRS. LUCINDA, wife of E.W. SISK, in the 76th year of her age. She was highly respected by all who knew her, an old member of the church here and was always looked upon as being one of its most consistent members. She was laid to rest in the cemetery here March 17th, where a host of relatives and friends had gathered to witness the interment ceremonies. She leaves an aged husband, one son and two daughters, several grand and great grandchildren besides a host of relatives to mourn her loss. SPENCE, wife of George Spence, died Friday, (5 Jul 1889) and was buried in Anna Cemetery. She left a husband and five daughters. Alto Pass, IL--STELLA STONE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. STONE, at Bald Knob, aged about eight years, died of scarlet fever, Tuesday, June 18. --THE TALK, June 21, 1899, contributed by Shauna Williams. |
