Iragene Tripp

Mrs. Iragene Tripp, 75, of Cobden, died at 1:05a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1925, in Lick Creek, the daughter of Ira and Florence (Stokes) Williams.

She married Glenn E. Tripp on Dec. 31, 1941, in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn E. Tripp of Cobden; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ira Dugan and Linda Tripp of Cobden and Charles E. Tripp of Cobden; one sister, Mae Arbuckle of Anna; four grandsons, Ira Tripp Jr. Dustin Tripp, Matthew Tripp, and Joshua Tripp; three great grandchildren, Michael Glenn Tripp, Logan Tripp, and Alexis Tripp; and one niece Marilyn Arbuckle.

Mrs. Tripp was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church and was very active in the Deborah Class, the Young at Heart, and was a nursing home Sunday School Teacher.

She was a member of the Anna-Jonesboro Garden Club and the Union County Home Extension. She wrote the Toolshed Corner News for the Gazette Democrat.

Funeral services were at 11a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Anna Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Harner and the Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment was in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery near lick Creek.

Memorials can be made to the Anna Heights Baptist Church.

Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna was in charge of the arrangements.
