REEVA IRENE NEELY



BEDFORD, TX - REEVA IRENE NEELY, a homemaker, died Monday at a Bedford hospital. She was 83.
Funeral is pending.
Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Neely was born in Anna, Ill., and had lived in Bedford for six years.
Survivors: Son, David M. Neely of Bedford; and one grandson.

JAMES L. NEWBERRY

James L. (Doc) Newberry of Anna died Wednesday, May 4, 1988 at Spring Branch Memorial Hospital in Houston, Tex.
He was born Dec. 1, 1906 in Jackson County, IL, son of James Arthur and Vera Brimmer Newberry.  He and the former Katherine Whiting were married June 28, 1930.
Newberry retired as co-owner of Union Tire Service in Anna.  He was a member of Anna Moose Lodge 1346 and Union County Sportsman's Club.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Farris Newberry of Houston; seven sisters, Martha Heern, Leona Hendricks, Mildred Gunn, Betty Ellis, Inez McIntosh, all of Carbondale, Margaret Wilmouth of Collinsville, Effie Logue of Lillian, Ala.; and two grandsons, Jeff and Steve Newberry of Houston.

KATHERINE NEWBERRY

Mrs. Katherine Newberry of Anna died Friday, June 30, 1989 at Memorial City Medical Center in Houston, Tex.  She was 84 years old.
She was born March 6, 1905 at Burnt Prairie, daughter of Charles W. and Maude Smith Whiting.  She married James (Doc) Newberry June 28, 1930.  He died May 4, 1988.
Mrs. Newberry was a retired schoolteacher, and member of Illinois Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Farris Newberry of Houston; a brother, George Whiting of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Hileman of Anna, Dottie Baumann of Jonesboro, Laura McGhee of Mt. Vernon; two grandsons, Jeff and Steve Newberry of Katy, Tex.

MARY LOUISE NEWBERRY



Anna, Ill.--Mary Louise Newberry, 78, of Anna died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at her home.
She was born Sept. 18,1929 in Jonesboro, Ill., daughter of Ernest and Nancy Dixon Hurst.  She married Haskell Newberry July 17, 1948 in Osceola, Ark.  He died Oct. 6, 1996.
Newberry was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include three daughters, Sue Swink and Linda Dillon of Jonesboro, Jeannie Pollard of Anna; a son, Bobby Newberry of Arab, Mo.; a sister, Kathryn Treece of Riley, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.

Helen Newbold

Helen Newbold, 91, formerly of Alto Pass, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at City Care Center in Cobden, Ill.
She was born Nov. 17, 1909, in Alto Pass, daughter of Frank and Cora Cauble Willey. She and Lowell A. Newbold were married Feb. 6, 1932, in Murphysboro, Ill. He died Jan. 15, 1977.
Helen was a member Congregational Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Stearns of Heber Springs, Ark., Beverly Hawk of Alto Pass; two sons, Lowell Newbold of Milford, Ill., Donald Newbold of Gainesville, Tenn.; a brother, Robert Willey of Arlington, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Janet Lindsey and Davy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.

JOAN NEWELL

Joan Newell, 68, of Anna died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 3, 1932 in Marion, IL., daughter of Earl and Ruth Fowler King.  She was married to Raymond Newell.  
She was a former employee of Olin Industries and Allen Industries in Herrin, IL. Her hobby was her three beloved dogs.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anna.
Survivors include her husband of Anna; a daughter, Nancy Street of Ozark, IL; two sons, Richard Law of Hazel Park, Mich., and Timothy Law of Dongola, IL; a brother, the Rev. Earl King of Marion; a sister, Annie Butler of Sacramento, Cal.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandson, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  The Revs. Roy Hill and Tim Blankenship will officiate, with burial in Anna Cemetery.

MILDRED A. NEWLON

Cairo, IL.--Mildred A. Newlon, 100, of Cairo died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at Daystar Care Center.
She was born Oct. 11, 1907, in Dongola, IL, daughter of Charles J. and Effie McNaughton Resch.  She married Henry Newlon, who died in 1973.
Newlon had been a receptionist at Morse Motel in Cairo.
Survivors include two nephews, John Resch of Dongola and Dale Resch of Rosedale, Ind.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
There is no visitation.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday (Dec. 17, 2007) at American Legion Cemetery in Dongola, with the Rev. Dare Aden officiating.

THOMAS C. NIMMO



LECANTO, FL--THOMAS C. NIMMO, 81, of Lecanto, died Monday (March 30, 1987) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River. Born in Illinois, he came here six years ago from Anna Ill. and was a retired truck driver.
He was a Seventh Day Adventist.
Survivors include a stepson Glenn Sivia, Lecanto; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Grace M. Nix

 Grace M. Nix, 90, of Dawsonville, Ga., formerly of Mill Creek, Ill., died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at her home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Union County, Ill., daughter of Horace and Minnie May Bullard Courtright. She and Chester Nix were married May 3, 1930. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1991.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ernest Nix of Dawsonville; two daughters, Dora May Motler of West Covina, Calif., and Pearl Grooms of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Jim Courtright of Jonesboro and Edward Courtright of Maine; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hileman & Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery

Heldur Nork

Mr. Heldur "Finn" Nork, 76, of Cobden, formerly of California and Estonia died at 5 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 5, 2006, in the City Care Center in Anna. He was born May 5, 1930 in Helme, Estonia, the son of Rokard and Aliide Ojamets.
He married Melba Shadlow on Dec. 29, 1980, in Barstow, Calif.
He was a 50 year member of the Hemet Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1439 and a member of the American Legion Post in Jacinto, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Nork, of Cobden; six children and their spouses, Heldur Kalev and Becky Nork Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Heldora and Rich Jongsma of Milwaukie Ore., Dan Nork of Fairview, Ore., Karen and Phillip Hagen of Azeusa, Calif., Joann and Michael Marks of Cobden, Larry and Stacey Walker of Vienna; 12 grandchildren, Jared, Richard, and Jana Nork, all of Memphis, Tony and Andrew Murphy of Milwaukie, Ore., Jacob, Peter and Bekka Nork, all of Fairview, Garrett Marks, Shanna Walker and Bethenie Nork, all of Cobden and Madelyn Walker of Vienna; two brothers, Enno Ojamets and Hans Ojamets, both of Estonia; one sister, Maie Niinelo of Estonia; special friends, Leo and Sally Kanter of San Clemente, Calif; and numerous family and friends in California and Estonia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
According to his wishes, Mr. Nork was cremated and his ashes will be returned to Estonia for burial.

CHARLES E. NORRIS




CHARLES E. NORRIS, WEST FRANKFORT, DIES
Charles E. Norris, 73, of 408 W Poplar St., West Frankfort, died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday in Union Hospital, West Frankfort.  He had been ill for the last month.
Mr. Norris was a retired Central Illinois Public Service Co. employee with 49 years of service in this area.  
He was born July 13, 1897, in Anna, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Norris.  His wife, Golda, died in January, 1969. 
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Brown of West Frankfort; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Vaughn of Anna; and two
grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.Wednesday at the Stone Funeral Home, West Frankfort. The Rev. Arthur Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Edna M. Norton

 Edna M. Norton, 96, of Alto Pass died at 1a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at the home of a son, Abe Norton, in Anna.
She was born Feb. 16, 1910, in Alto Pass, daughter of Fred A. and Emma McKinney Hartline. She and Don Carlos Norton were married Jan. 9, 1932, in Mound City, Ill. He preceded her in death on  Feb. 11, 1992.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law,  Abram  and JoAnn Norton of Anna, and their children, Cindy and husband, Gene Hammer, of Jonesboro, and their daughter, Dr. Sara Martin of Wentzville, MO.; Steve and wife, Kim Norton, of Mckinney, Texas, and their children Jared and Ethan Norton, also of McKinney; Chris and wife, Christy Norton, of Cookeville, TN, and their children, Austin and Alexa Norton, also of Cookeville,; one brother, James W. and wife Betty Hartline of Anna; and other relatives and friends, including her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don Carlos Norton; one brother, Leonard; and three sisters, Agnes, Lucille, and Imogene.
Edna was a 1930 graduate of Southern Illinois Normal University. She taught in one-room schools in Tunnel Hill, Landreth and Mount Glen, Ill., from 1930 to 1935, and in Alto Pass from 1936 until retiring in 1973.
She was a lifelong member of Alto Pass Baptist Church.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to service time at First Baptist Church in Alto Pass.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Carroll Toler and Randy Carstens officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.

IRIS V. NULL


LEE’S SUMMIT, MO--IRIS V. NULL, 88, Lee’s Summit, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at the White Ridge Care Center in Lee’s Summit.
Mrs. Null was born March 30, 1911, in Anna, Ill. She was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Independence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur K. Null.
Her survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Max Daniel, Blue Springs, and Karole and Edward Zinger, Shawnee, Kan.; one son, Jack Null, Ohio; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit. Burial will be in Lee’s Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
