I found this unrecorded marriage license in the Union County Courthouse. This was completely hand written on a
lined sheet of paper.

County of Union ) The people of the State of Illinois, “To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting”, Know
ye, that License and permission are hereby granted to any Minister of the Gospel, authorized to marry by the Church
or Society to which he belongs, any Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice of any inferior Court, or Justice of
the Peace, to celebrate and certify the marriage of Mr. Jacob Norrix and Mrs. Minerva Jones now both of this County
according to the usual Custim and Laws of the State of Illinois, and you are hereby required to return this License
to me within thirty days from the date of the Solemnization of the Same, under a penalty of One Hundred Dollars.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of said County Court at office in Jonesboro this
14th day of November AD 1861
