HAROLD EUGENE TOLER
![]() Mt. Vernon, IL--Harold Eugene Toler, 79, of Mt. Vernon, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at the Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville. He was born Nov. 11, 1918 in Union County, son of Garvin and Cecil (Brown) Toler. He married Duella Shaeffer in February of 1959 in Mt. Vernon, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 1981. He is survived by a son, Jerry B. Toler of Ashley; a daughter, Brenda Joyce Crowe of Prattsville, Ark., five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Toler was owner and operator of Toler Plumbing & Construction Company in Mt. Vernon. He was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God, Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge 31 AF & AM, Andrew D. Webb Chapter 160 of Mt. Vernon, Patton Commandery 69 Knights Templar, Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Southern Illinois and Ainad Shrine Temple in East St. Louis. Graveside services are 11 a.m. today at Anna Cemetery in Anna with the Rev. Darin E. Elder officiating.
