Retired Post Office Official Dies; Rites Set ![]() Willis E. Toler, 71, a retired assistant postmaster, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday (1961) at Holden Hospital where he had been a patient for one week. Mr. Toler lived at 206 E. Park St., Carbondale. He retired from the post office position in 1954. He was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church. Mr. Toler was born Dec. 17, 1889, at Union County, a son of William and Sarah Ballard Toler. He married the former Sybil Hunsaker Feb. 8, 1913, at Murphysboro. She died Sept. 11, 1960. He leaves his son, William Samuel Toler, Chicago; sister, Mrs. Dora Barrow, Alton; brothers, Cleve Toler, Carbondale, and Irvin Toler, Cobden, and three grandchildren. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Huffman Funeral Home in Carbondale. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev B. I. Cherry, pastor of the Walnut Street Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Anna Cemetery. Contributed by Larry Toler |
