Goodman, Robert B--farmer, was born 24 Oct 1832 in Wayne Co, IL the son of  Robert and Mary (Lacy) Goodman. Robert was the youngest of nine children. His father died when he was 5 years old. In 1837 the family came to Union Co, IL. Robert B. married Malinda Anderson and they had six children. He married a second  time to Martha Johnson from NC, the daughter of Wm H and Sarah (Patrick) Johnson. Martha had six children also, those living in 1883 were: Robert N (b 15 Sep 1869), Martha E (b 25 Dec 1876) and Lula M (b 02 Sep 1882.)

Lence, Alfred--merchant at Willard's Landing, was born 01 Dec 1835 in Union Co, IL the son of Jacob and Barbara (Klutts) Lence of NC. Alfred was the youngest of 6 children. His grandfather was named Peter Lence. Alfred started clerking at Vancils Landing, MO. Then he ran the old Green's ferry. In 1871, he opened his general store at Willard's Landing. He first married Sophia Rheinhart, who died in 1864. He married a second time to Martha Hardin, born 30 Jan 1849 in MO. Alfred and Martha's children are: Anna (b 13 Mar 1870), Emma (b 12 Feb 1872), Birda (b 14 Sep 1874) and Efie (b 27 Jul 1876).

Lyerle, Caleb M--farmer, was born 17 Jul 1820 in NC the son of John and Susanna (Walker)Lyerle. His grandfather was Christopher Lyerle. John was married twice in NC. His 1st wife died having 3 children--3 boys who are deceased and one girl, Nancy. John and  Susanna had 5 children: Caleb, Daniel, John, Isaac and Polly Ann (dead). Caleb married Catherine Hileman (b 10 May 1821 and died Dec 1875). She had 6 children: Elizabeth, Louisa, Sarah, Malinda, Lucinda and Matilda. Caleb married a 2nd time to Mary E (Meisenheimer) Humphries, the daughter of Alfred and Betsey (Weaver) Humphries. She is the mother of three children: Martha and Cynthia Ann Humphries, and Alfred M Lyerle.

Reynolds, R.S.--farmer, was born 15 Dec 1815 in Hagerstown, Washington Co, MD the son of John Jr and Mary (Woltz) Reynolds. His grandfather was John Sr, who was a Capt in the Revolutionary War in MD. John Sr went to KY where he was killed by Indians and his family captured but later released. John Jr was a jeweller in MD and a Major in the War of 1812. Both of R.S.'s parents died in MD, his mother died on the battle field of Antietan. She was the daughter of George and Charity (Shugart) Woltz. John Jr and Mary had 12 children, of which only R.S. and a sister named Elizabeth Clark are living. R.S. studied law in Chambersburg, PA and was admitted to the bar in Venia, OH in 1838, then went to IA. In about 1840 he came to Union Co, IL south of Jonesboro. He took up farming and owns 1600acres  in Union Precinct but lives in Cape Girardeau, MO. He married 19 Apr 1861 in Alexander Co, IL to Amanda Greenly the daughter of James Greenly. Amanda was born in KY. R.S. and Amanda's children are: John (d 1882), Robert S, William R.S., James G and  Joseph LeRoy.
