RUVA PAULINE WAKEFIELD DIES IN MARION HOSPITAL
Mrs. Ruva Pauline WAKEFIELD,
61, 208 S. Water St., Johnston City, died at 1 a.m. today in Marion
Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient seven days. Mrs.
WAKEFIELD was born near Cobden Nov. 7, 1898. Her parents were John and
Anna BROWN GARLAND.
She belonged to a West Frankfort Methodist Church.
She leaves her husband Claude; daughter Mrs. John BEAVER of West
Frankfort; grandson Claude BEAVER, Jr., half-sisters Mrs. Lynn COLLIER
and Mrs. Verdial THOMAS, both of West Frankfort.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Washington Ave.
Baptist Church, with the pastor, the Rev. Harold L. SMITH, officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the family
residence after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Murman and Wilson Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.

HUBERT D. WALKER

LIBERTYVILLE,
IL–HUBERT D. “TOOTIE” WALKER, 72, of Libertyville
died July 10 in his home. He was born May 10, 1927 in Jonesboro, Ill.
and had been a resident of Libertyville for the past 47 years.
Mr. Walker had recently retired from Abbot Laboratories where he had
worked for more than 45 years. He had served as a non-commissioned
officer in Europe with the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of
Libertyville American Legion Post 329 and of St. Joseph Parish,
Libertyville.
Hubert is survived by his children, Donna (John) Brill of Dallas Texas,
his son Larry (Karen) Walker of Round Lake Beach; his grandchildren,
Kelan, Allison, and Courtney Brill, Stephanie, Brian, Steve, Larry, and
Kyle Walker.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret; his parents Lawrence and Mabel Walker; his brothers, Donald and Raymond.
Funeral services were held July 14 at McMurrough Chapel, Libertyville.
Interment in Ascension Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions are
requested to be made to the American Cancer Society.

ANNELISE BUSH WALTON

Annelise (Bush) Walton died 9 Jun 1939, at the home of her daughter, Louise
Clutts, in Chicago, and was buried in Anna Cemetery. Her funeral was at the
home of her daughter, Mary Hill, in Anna. She was the second of seven children
of Alexander D. and Paralee (Jean) Bush. She graduated from Union Academy. She
married on 21 Feb 1895, Winstead Davie Walton. She left two daughters, three
grandchildren, Raymond Clutts, Joann Hill, and Robert Hill; one brother, Louis
H. Bush; three sisters, Dora Bush, of Dallas, Texas, Addie Keifer, of Marshall,
and Edith Bailey, of Dallas, Texas.

LORRAINE WALTON

Loraine Walton, oldest daughter of W.D. Walton, died 23 Feb 1901, at home in Ware, aged 3 years, 10 months,
and 5 days, and was buried in Anna Cemetery. Her funeral was at the home of
Mrs. Walton parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Bush.

Winstead Davie “Wins” Walton committed suicide 24 Nov 1924, on the west porch of
his home in the bottoms, and was buried in Anna Cemetery.
He shot himself in the
head with a 32 caliber revolver. His wife and daughter Louise were in the house
at the time. He left a note to his brother, Ed Walton. His cotton crop of 300 to
400 acres had failed. There was a coroner’s inquest.
He was born 12 Feb 1856, on
the Walton farm near Anna, the oldest son of James K. and Serena (Davie) Walton
and a grandson of Winstead Davie. He was educated at the city schools in Anna
and at Jacksonville Business College. He married on 20 Feb 1895, Anna Bush, of
Anna.
He was the Democrat candidate for state treasurer in 1914.
He left a
widow, two daughters, Louise Walton, at home, and Mary wife of John Hill; one
granddaughter, one sister, Mrs. Will R. Merker, of Belleville; and five
brothers, Ed B. Walton and James K. Walton, of Anna, William Walton, of Seattle,
Wash., Dr. Charles C. Walton and Dr. Samuel Walton, of Chicago

MARY M. WARD

COBDEN, IL–MRS. MARY M. WARD, age 86 of Cobden, died at 3:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Rehab and Care Center in Cobden. She
was born March 19,1925 in Dexter, KY, the daughter of Clarence Elvis
and Hattie Duncan Phillips. She married Francis L. Ward on
December 24 1946 in Steeleville, IL. He preceded her in death on
March 28, 2007.
Mary is survived by four sons, Joe Allen (Debra) Ward of Chester, David
L. Ward of Cobden, Fritzy Lee (Janet) Ward of Prior, OK, Michael Ward
of Cobden; one daughter, Mary L. (Wayne) Crossman of Winchester, IL;
twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; twelve
great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Franklin Phillips of
Kalamazoo, MI, Robert Phillips of Metropolis; two sisters, Pansy
Pritchett of Dexter, KY and Novella Carroll of Murray, KY; other
relatives and many friends.
Mary was a member of the Limestone Baptist Church in Cobden for many years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M. Ward will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday,
July 29, 2011 at the Limestone Baptist Church in Cobden with Rev. Bob
Dover officiating. Interment will be in the Limestone
Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 28,
2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden and after
10:00 a.m. Friday until the funeral hour at the Limestone Baptist
church in Cobden.

WARNER, 78, of Brooksville died Tuesday at home. A native of Wolf Lake,
Ill., she moved to this area 23 years ago from Lincoln Park, Mich. She
was a homemaker and member of Community Bible Church. She is survived
by her husband, Howard; two sons, James of Stone Mountain, Ga., and
Barry of Fort Collins, Colo.; two daughters, Wilma Harris Landrith of
Grosse Ile, Mich., and Patricia Buss of Kearney, Mo.; 15 grandchildren;

JAMES O. WATKINS

JONESBORO - James O.
Watkins, 93, passed away 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, in Union
County Hospital in Anna. Jim was born Dec. 11, 1914, in Mill
Creek, to Charles and Ruth Lindsay Watkins.
He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), which was part of
Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal designed to bring the country back
from the depths of despair during the Great Depression.
He was one of the only surviving CCC members in attendance at the
dedication ceremony of the CCC Worker statue erected at Giant City
State Park Lodge in October 2007.
He was an avid reader of history and well-known in his community as a
resource for Union County history. Jim was a skilled mechanic and
enjoyed his lifelong lobby of automobile and lawn mower repair. Jim was
also a heavy equipment operation and a retired foreman from Union
County Highway Department in Jonesboro after 39 years.
He was a member of the International Order of the Odd Fellows Lodge 241 and Operating Engineers Local 318.
Jim married Mary Belle Beggs of Dongola on March 26, 1938. They were
honored by their family and friends with a 70th wedding anniversary
celebration in March of this year.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Belle Watkins of Jonesboro; children,
Carmella Kiefer and husband, John, of Belle Rive, Jimmy Watkins and
wife, Nancy, of Jonesboro and Carolyn Brimm and husband, Alan, of Anna;
six grandchildren, Anna Jukes and husband, Russell, of Belle Rive,
Christina Epperson and husband, Mark, of McLeansboro, Robert Keifer and
wife, Monika, of Effingham, Brad Watkins and wife, Jaime, of Jonesboro,
Bryan Watkins of Jonesboro and Dr. Jamie Brimm of Tampa, Fla.; 12
great-grandchildren; sisters, Faye Adams of Anna and Judy Hafford of
Cairo; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Watkins; six brothers; and five sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, in Rendleman and
Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor David Eidson
officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be
from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Judith L. Watkins, 69, of Anna, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 27, 1937, daughter of James R. and Margaret M. Lutz.
She and John H. Watkins were married on Nov. 21, 1956.
Watkins was active in the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of
Anna. She was an elected member of the Friends of the Stinson
Library and was recently elected to serve as president.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Watkins of Granby, Conn.
and Brian Watkins of Hartland, Conn.; two daughters, Suzan Young of
Shutesbury, Mass. and Laura Watkins of Hamburg,
N. J.; four brothers, Michael Lutz of St. Anne, Mo., Jon Lutz of Anna,
Timothy of Henderson, Ky., and Steven Lutz; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Peter and Julian Lutz.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral
Home in Anna. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 28, 2007)
at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Borgelt officiating.
Interment will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.

62, Gray Gobles Drive, Williamsburg, Va., died Thursday. Born in
Dongola, Ill., he moved to Williamsburg from Virginia Beach, Va.
He was an electronic engineer for Global Billip Cartener Co. He was a retired technical sergeant in the Air Force.
Survivors: wife, Marjorie; daughter, Laura Leigh Botte, Virginia Beach;
stepdaughter, Diana Monfort, Newport News, Va.; son, Stephen M.,
Orlando; brother, Valgene, Bourbonnais, Ill.; father, Richard Sr.,

EMMA JANE WEISS

Emma Jane Weiss, the daughter of William and Gertrude Settlemoir Wiggs,
was born in Cobden on May 23, 1904, and passed away at the Life Care
Center in Jonesboro on Sunday, Aug 27, 1989, at the age of 85.
She was one of five children, with two brothers and one sister preceding her in death.
On June 15, 1935, she was united in marriage in East St. Louis, to Earl Weiss, who survives.
She also leaves one sister, Grace Lingle of Waco,
Tex; besides two nephews, three nieces and one cousin, Eunice
Settlemoir of Benton.
She was granted a master’s degree from the
University of Michigan and taught in different schools, including
Jonesboro and Anna Junior High, for a period of 38 years. She was
a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and a charter member of Delta
Kappa Gamma Society International. She was also a member of the
Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro and a very active member until her
health failed.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Norris
& Son Funeral Home Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert
Schrack officiating. Interment was in Jonesboro Cemetery.
Norris & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anna, IL.--Bobby E. West, 78, of Anna died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, IL.
He was born Feb 21, 1929, son of John and Irene Boyer West. He married Shirley Hileman.
West owned and operated West DX and then West Sunoco, had a U-Haul
dealership 35 years, and was the representative for AAA Towing Service
30 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lisa Jianakoplos of St. Louis;
a son, Brian West of Indianapolis; three sisters, Louise Spring of Wolf
Lake, IL, Lillie Halterman and Wanda Beanland of Anna; a brother, John
West of Dyersburg, TN; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to service time Friday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday (July 13, 2007) at the funeral
home, with the Rev. Bill Minor officiating. Burial will be in
Casper Cemetery.

Services Set Monday For Anna Resident
Frank West, 84, Anna, died
of a heart attack Saturday at the Pitts Nursing Home in Anna. He
was born Dec.12, 1876, in Tennessee, but had lived most of his life in
the Anna area. He was married to Mrs. Mary West who died Nov. 20,
1959.
He leaves daughters Mrs. Flora Sullivan, Jonesboro, Mrs. Roy Davis,
Anna, Mrs. Donald Huelson, Anna, Mrs. Eldon Smith, Cobden, Mrs. Robert
Kelley, Manteno; sons Monroe West of Marissa, Dallas West, Anna, John
West, Detroit, Mich, and Leon West of Vienna; brother Joe West of Anna;
sister Mrs. Bertha Pellam, Nashville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and
11
great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon Sunday at the Crain-Norris Funeral Home in
Anna where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev.
Gene Pribble, pastor of the Jonesboro First Methodist Church, will
officiate burial in Anna Cemetery.

LAKE, Ill. - GENEVA WIGGS, 87, of Wolf Lake died Monday, Sept. 20,
2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was
born Sept. 14, 1917, near Ware, Ill., daughter of W.W. "Dick" and
Fannie Verble David.
She and Floyd W. "Cotton" Wiggs were married Sept. 26, 1936, in Jonesboro, IL.
Wiggs was a photographer 50 years, and owned and operated Wiggs Studio
in Jonesboro. She was a lifelong member of Professional Photographers
of America, member of Nancy I Hunter Chapter DAR in
Cape Girardeau, National Society of Colonial Dames XVII
Century, Antique Club of Southern Illinois and Salem
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Sullivan of St. Louis, Billie Hamlin of Jonesboro; two grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev.David Eidson officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro

IVA WIGGS
FUNERAL TODAY

Denton,
TX--The remains of Iva Perry Wiggs, son of Mr. And Mrs. Z. Wiggs of
Denton, were brought here Thursday morning from Greenville, Tenn.,
where the young man died Tuesday morning (12 November 1912) after a
long illness with typhoid fever.
Mr. and Mrs. Wiggs were summoned from here by a
telegram saying that their son was very low and not expected to
live. A letter after they arrived stated that he was better, and
the relatives were very hopeful.
Tuesday morning (12 November 1912) the telegram came
to the brothers and sisters here saying that he had died that morning
and would arrive Thursday for interment here.
The deceased was well known in Denton, having spent
most of his life here. He was born in (Jonesboro) Illinois, (25
November 1887) and soon after his parents moved to Denton where Mr.
Wiggs Sr. has held for many years the position of street
commissioner. Several years ago Iva Wiggs married a Miss Fry of
Tennessee, at that time on a visit to her sister, Mrs. Walter
Wiggs. They moved to Tennessee shortly after the birth of their
little girl, who is now two years old, and the deceased followed the
occupation of a cattle buyer.
He is
survived by his wife, who suffered a breakdown after his death and was
unable to accompany his remains to Denton; his little girl and his
father and mother and several brothers and a sister here.
The funeral services were conducted Thursday
afternoon at 3 o’clock at the family residence, in charge of
Elder A. D. Rogers, and interment followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Jack
Albert Wiggs, youngest son of Wm. E. and Gertrude Settlemoir Wiggs was
born at Cobden, Ill February 5, 1917 and departed this life at
Carbondale Ill. November 4, 1921, aged 4 years and nine months.
His fatal illness of four days was due to diphtheria. In the
struggle of these four between life and death, he was a brave little
sufferer and bore it patiently until the final hour.
A private funeral was held at the Oakland Cemetery,
Carbondale Saturday afternoon, November 5, at 2 o’clock conducted
by the Reverend Dr. Rowlands of Chicago, where he was laid at rest
The floral offerings from the Sunday School, public
school, Railway Union organizations, neighbors and friends were most
beautiful.
He
leaves his father, mother, three sisters, Grace, Emma, and Jessie of
Carbondale, and one brother Guy E. of East St. Louis, maternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Settlemoir of Cobden, besides
numerous other relatives and friends.
Those out of town attending the funeral were Mr. And
Mrs. Charles Settlemoir and daughter, Eunice, and Mr. And Mrs. Curtis
Settlemoir and daughter Harriet of Benton, Ill, Mr. and Mrs. John D.
Settlemoir, and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Anderson of Cobden, Ill, Mrs. Henry
Kohler and Miss Vertus Clutts of Anna, and Mr. John L. Lingle of
Farina, Ill.

MRS. ZEPH (RACHEL) WIGGS

Denton, TX--Mrs.
Rachel Wiggs 81, died in a local hospital Tuesday at 5:30 a.m.
She had been in ill health for 17 years and had been seriously ill for
the past week.
Born in Union County, Illinois on November 21, 1862,
she was married to Zeph Wiggs in Jonesboro, Illinois on Nov. 6,
1881. They had been residents of Denton County for 52 years and
of Texas for 54 years. Besides her husband, Mrs. Wiggs is
survived by three sons, W. C. Wiggs of Vernon, R. T. Wiggs of Caddo
Mills, and Noah R. Wiggs of Denton; one daughter Mrs. Ida Mae Ritter of
Corpus Christi, Texas, and 14 grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at
10 a.m. in the Schmitz Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. A. D. Rogers
with burial in the IOOF Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Otis Davis, Bailey Coffey, Hiram Anderson, Grover Graham, W. R. Blair and Frank Durham.
Honorary pallbearers are B. M. Edwards, Bill Cartwright,
Henry Caddell, Jack Davis, Jack Morris and Jesse Griffith.

TX--Zeph Wiggs, 85, 228 Blount St. died at his home at 9 p.m.
Friday. Funeral services will be held at the Jack Schmitz &
Sons Funeral Chapel at 4 p.m. conducted by Rev. A. D. Rogers,
evangelist of the Christian Church.
Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
Wiggs, a resident of Denton for 56 years, was a
retired contractor. He was born in Union County, Illinois, April
21, 1859. He was married to his late wife, the former Miss Rachel
Wilson, in Illinois in 1879.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and had been a member of the IOOF Lodge for 50 years.
He is survived by four children; Mrs. Bert Bowman,
Corpus Christie, Rua Wiggs, Caddo Mills, Walter Wiggs of Vernon and
Noah Wiggs of Denton.
Pallbearers were; Charlie McMath, M. S. Webster, D. M. Edwards, D. L. Myers, W. B. Nall and L. F. Rowlet.

IL--Services for GERALD A. WILKERSON, 63, of Algonquin, will be held on
Sunday, Oct. 6, at Crain Funeral Home, Tamms, Ill.
He was born Oct. 6, 1932, in Anna, Ill., the son of Gerald and Ruby Wilkerson.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington.
Mr. Wilkerson was a resident of the area for three years. He was
formerly a resident of Tamms, Ill. for 15 years. He was also a former
25-year employee of Otis Elevator Co.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; his son, Greg (Elita), of Michigan;
his daughters, Geraldine (Ronnie) Rogers, of Northlake, Ill. and Susan
(Robert) Coine, of Algonquin; his grandchildren, Melissa, Christine,
Brittany and Jennifer; his mother, Ruby Wilkenson; his sister, Joan
(John) Orsburn, of Tamms, Ill.; his sister-in-law, Joan Wilkerson and
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Donald.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Miller Funeral
Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee, and Sunday until the time of
services at the Crain Funeral Home.

EMMA YECKLEY WILKINS
JONESBORO, IL– Mrs. Emma G. Yeckley Wilkins, 84, died at 1:05
a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2002 in Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
She was born Feb. 22, 1918 in Goreville, Ill., the daughter of Brad Durham and Ethel Hudgens Durham.
She married Gus Yeckley, who preceded her in
death. She later married to Donald Wilkins who also preceded her
in death. One sister; three brothers; two grandsons, Michael
Ramsey and Gary Wayne Yeckley; and a great-grandson Brendan Avery
Greenwood, all also preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law,
Shirley and Mike Corzine of Anna; one son and daughter-in-law, C. B.
and Mary Yeckley of Anna; two stepsons and step-daughters-in-law, Roger
and Connie Wilkins of Jonesboro and Carl and Charlotte Wilkins of
California; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild and two brothers, Billy Lee Durham and Thomas

ZEPHYRHILLS,
FL–LAWRENCE WILKINS, 81, of Zephyrhills, died Thursday (April 27,
1989). Born in Anna, Ill., he came here 15 years ago from Michigan.
He was a retired general supervisor for the Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors and a World War II Marine veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Erma C.; three brothers, Homer, Carl, and
Charles, all of Cobden, Ill.; and a sister, Nellie Knupp, Cobden.

Francis Paul Williams

Francis Paul Williams
was born Aug. 26, 1903, in Johnson County, Ill. the son of Alonzo and
Ritta (Rose) Williams, and passed away at 7:50 p.m. Sunday evening Oct.
20, 1974, at his home in Grand Chain.
He was married to Grace Tate on Jan. 19, 1929, in Jonesboro, Ill.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Grace of Grand Chain, one son, Rev.
Eugene Williams of Olmsted, one daughter, Mrs. Sarita Griffith of
Peoria, Ill. one foster son, Cecil Toler of Sterling, VA. one brother,
Cecil Williams of Dongola, five sisters, Mrs. Goldie Duty, Mrs. Martha
Russell, Mrs. Nellie Moreland, Mrs. Enola Stevens, all of Anna, and
Mrs. Virgie Bridgeman of Quincy, Ill. seven grandchildren, and two
great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the
McCarty Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Argil Landis officiating.
Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery. McCarty Funeral Home in
Anna was in charge of arrangements.

Grace Idell Williams

Mrs. Grace I. Williams, 75,
of Grand Chain and formerly of Anna, died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec.
1, 1983, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Dec. 11, 1907, in Union County, the daughter of Sylvester and Sarah Jane (Grammer) Tate.
She married Francis Paul Williams Jan. 19, 1929, in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1974.
She is survived by one son, the Rev. Eugene Williams of Olmsted; one
daughter, Sarita Griffith of Peoria, one foster son, Cecil Toler of
Virginia; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Union County.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 1983, at Lutz
and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. William Gholson
officiating. Interment was in Alto Pass Cemetery.

Rev. Paul Eugene Williams

The Rev. Eugene Williams, 62,
of Olmsted, and formerly of Union County, died at 10a.m. Saturday,
March 11, (1994) at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on Sept. 9, 1932, in Union County, the son of Francis Paul and Grace (Tate) Williams.
He married Emma Lou Manus on July 17, 1952, in Piggott, Ark.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Lou Williams of Olmsted; two
daughters, Arlene Underwood of Grand Chain and Brenda Neely of Ashland
City, Tenn.; one son, Kenneth Williams of Olmsted; one sister, Sarita
Griffith of Peoria, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;
and other relatives.
He was an ordained Baptist minister and had pastored several churchs in
Southern Illinois. At the time of his death he was Pastor of the Mound
City Baptist Church.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Lutz and
Rendleman Funeral in Anna with the Rev. F. M. Speakman officiating.
Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery.

Anna, IL.--Sybil T. Wilson, 97, of Anna died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007 at Union County Hospital.
She was born May 24, 1910 in Anna, daughter of William Isaac and Susan
Brimm Tucker. She and Orville Wilson were married Dec. 9, 1933 in
Mound City, IL. He died Jan. 9, 1985.
Wilson was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a niece, Betty English of Marion, IL; four nephews,
Bill and the Rev. James Kerley of Benton, IL, Bob Cash of Austin, TX,
and Steve Wilson of Carbondale, IL.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Thursday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL--MARIE E. WITTENBRINK, 95, of New Port Richey died
Sunday at Park Lake Village Nursing Home in New Port Richey. A native
of Cobden, Ill., she moved to this area 39 years ago from East St.
Louis, Ill.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey.
She is survived by a brother, Frank Manzer of St. Louis; a nephew; and two nieces.

DELORIAS MARY WOMACK

ANNA - Mrs. Delorias Mary Womack, 78, died at 10:18 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010, in City Care Center in Anna.
She was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Jonesboro, the daughter of Milus and Dorleska Knight Kerby.
She married Roy Cletus Womack on Dec. 3, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1983.
Delorias is survived by two daughters, Linda (Dean) Newman of Anna and
Royce Womack of Bloomington; one step-daughter, Phyllis (Oliver)
Ridgeway of Anna; one sister, Vernetta Wright of Ashkum; two half
brothers, Gary (Brenda) Noble of Jonesboro and Donald (Yvonne) Noble of
Anna; two half sisters, Sandy Kerby of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Sharon
(Phillip) Dillow of Dongola; five grandchildren, Lindell Lingle Jr.,
Kim Sharp, Brett Lingle and Heath and Dusty Newman; two
great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many
friends. Delorias also leaves behind her beloved dog, Rex and her many
friends at City Care Center in Anna.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; step father, Earl Noble; and one brother, Charles Kerby.
Delorias was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro for many
years. She retired from City Care Center in Cobden as a CNA and PTA,
and assisted her husband with Womack Produce Trucking Co. in Anna.
Funeral services for Mrs. Delorias Mary Womack will be at 1:30 p.m.
Monday, June 14, 2010, in Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna,
with the Rev. Rand Morgan officiating. Friends may from 11:30 a.m. to
1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Deville, LA--Services for Clovis Martin Wright will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003 in the chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with the Revs. Ernest Huber and Larry Wright officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pineville under the direction of Rush Funeral Home.
Mr. Wright, age 61, of Deville, died Monday, September 22, 2003 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria.
Clovis Wright was a native of Jonesboro, Illinois. He was a painter and carpenter. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Sue Wright; two brothers, Everett Melvin Wright and James Gordon Wright; two sisters, Bernice Wolfe and Pauline Freeman.
Survivors include his two sons, Mike Thompson of Glenmora and Brandon Wright of Pineville; two daughters, Deborah Tate of Deville and Marlene Murrell of Dry Prong; four brothers, Gerald Wright of Pineville, William "Bill" Wright of Anna, Illinois, David Wright of Jonesboro, Illinois and Richard Wright of Richmond, Virginia; two sisters, Virginia Sivia of St. Charles, Missouri and Charlotte Whitehead of Karnak, Illinois and twelve grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003 in Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Jonesboro, IL--Ruth Wright,
87, of Jonesboro, formerly of Wolf Lake, IL, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008
at Jonesboro Health Care Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1920 in Kansas City, KS, daughter of George and Clara Mae Hoopes Whinery.
Survivors include four daughters, Clara Folsom and Edna Franks of
Kansas City, Eva Strough of Anna, IL, Ruby Smith of Wolf Lake; seven
sons, George Coldren of Coronado, CA, Kelley Wright of Haughton, LA,
Harold King of Iowa, Gary Coldren, Larry Coldren, Willis Smythe and
Claude Smythe.
She was preceded in death by a son and two daughters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the
Rev. Jim Stamp officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
