EDNA B. YODER

LIGONIER, IN–EDNA B. YODER, 82, of Ligonier, a member of American
Legion Auxiliary, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at Oak Leaf Village.
The Cobden, Ill., native (born 1917) worked for Wirk Garment as a
seamstress, for Essex Wire, was a member of Order of Eastern Star,
Ligonier United Methodist Church and its Good Samaritan Circle.
Surviving are a daughter, Patsy Malle of Wawaka; a sister, Ethyl Myers
of Ligonier; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschal, in February, and four sisters.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ulrey-Renner Funeral Home,
Ligonier, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in
Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.

HAZEL LOUISE YOUNGBLOOD

Mattoon,
IL--HAZEL LOUISE YOUNGBLOOD, 74, Mattoon, died Monday (Aug. 29, 1994).
Survivors: sons, Max, Mattoon; Philip, Lebanon, Tenn.; brothers, Billy
and Linus Crader, both of Washington state; sisters, Zetta Ramsey,
Jonesboro; Helen Stevens, Florida; five grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren. Preceded by husband, two brothers.

LOWELL "ZIM" ZIMMERMAN

Frankfort, IL–LOWELL “ZIM” ZIMMERMAN, 91, of
Frankfort, formerly of Cobden, died Friday, July 8, 2011 at his home.
He was born on February 23, 1920 to Hallie and Benjamin Zimmerman in Cobden. He had
three sisters and five brothers. He married Jeanie M. McCrite on
July 17, 1955. She survives him. He also has a daughter,
Linda Sluiter and two sons, William and Dennis. He has seven
grandchildren, Denisa Carey, Gerald Sluiter, Kevin, Amy, Brian, Cortney
and Stacy Zimmerman; one brother, Kenneth; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lucille, Mickey
and Ruth; and four brothers, Bert, Collin, Donald and William.
He served his country honorably in the Army Air Force during WWII and
the Korean War. He fought Germans and Japanese as a gunner on a
B-17. He retired in Columbus, Ohio in 1967. He had his own
pilot’s license. Zim came to Frankfort to find a home for
his family. He worked at the Arsenal, then went to work at DuPage
Well & Pump, until he started his own business, Zimmerman Well and
Pump, where he worked with his son for over 30 years. He finally
retired at age 85. He was a member of the VFW in Frankfort.
He enjoyed bowling for the Air Force. He and his son, Dennis,
bowled in the Miller High Life Tournament and placed 9th in the
US. He also taught his daughter how to bowl in Columbus, OH.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 12:00 PM at
Crain Funeral Home in Tamms with Rev. Mark Kirk officiating with full
military rites. Interment will follow in McCrite Cemetery.
