Death notices added--
GILES--FATALLY BURNED--Giles Elliott of Pecatonica, who was so badly
burned a few days ago by a lamp exploding, died this morning at 8:15 o’clock.
Ever since the night of the accident he has suffered severely. He leaves a
wife and children. His life was insured for $3,000 in the Modern Woodmen of
America to which order he belonged. The particulars of the burning were in
Saturday’s issue.--Rockford Daily Gazette, 02-14-1887
STOCKBURGER--Christopher Stockburger, a blacksmith living in Pecatonica,
died very suddenly, Wednesday. He was about his work as usual and on going
to his house was taken with am apoplectic fit and died in a very short
time.--Rockford Daily Gazette, 01-20-1882
WOODRUFF--Mrs. William Woodruff, an Ohio woman, visiting at Pecatonica,
Ill., aged 80 years, was fatally injured in a runaway, and her brother, J. H.
Whittlesy, received injuries which is feared will prove fatal. [The
