This is the mixed family of James Hayden McCoy and Sarah Matthews.
Hayden was first married to Martha Powers.
(Bucky McCoy is still looking for information on her.)
Sarah was the daughter of Absolom Jackson "Jack" Matthews and Rebecka Jones
and the sister of Charles Matthews.
She was first married to Milton Hawthorn and had two daughters by him ;
Jessie May and Fannie May.
Hayden and Sarah are seated in the front.
In the upper left second man over is Bucky McCoys father John McCoy, their son.
Behind Sarah is Jennie McCoy and John Newcomb.
Jennie is Hayden's daughter by Martha Powers.
I would guess this was taken early 1900 or so.

This is a younger photo of Sarah Mathews
- later Hawthorn and later McCoy.
Her grandson, Bucky McCoy still lives in Nashville and most
Washington County researchers have heard of Bucky.

Grandfather John (Tom) Thomas McCoy (7' 4" tall) and Grandmother Sarah Ann Brown McCoy, and their large family, celebrate
their 50th wedding anniversary at the old McCoy homestead in Richview, Ill., on October 11, 1911. We could not identify most
of the family (in 1976), but we provide space to write in whatever identification you can discover at Reunion in Salem.

Grandmother Sarah Ann Brown mcCoy with her sister, Elizabeth Tennessee Brown. We have no way of knowing when this picture
was taken, but since both women appear to be wearing black (Widow's Weeds), We think maybe it was taken after the funeral
of Grandfather John thomas (Tom) McCoy; if that is so, it would be on or about October 16, 1917 -- the date Grandfather died.
