Given at Schlatt, the 23rd of May, 1864 Mayor Ritzenthaler
After the unmarried watchmaker Peter Zipfel, born the 26th of June 1846, son of the deceased local teacher Bernhard Zipfel and of the still living Cezilia neeŽ Willig planned to travel to the North American States, and after he declared his intention to apply for the therefore necessary passport at the "Großherzogl. Bezirksamt", his mother, Bernhard Zipfel's widow was called to come to the city hall to give her agreement. The same appeared and made the following statement:
"I don't have any objections to the intention of my son Peter Zipfel, and I give him my consent to his planned travel to America"

(25th of May, 1864)due to the below listed minutes with the ... from the" Großh. Bezirks-Amt", that there is no obstruction
to issue the mentioned passport.

Geschehen Schlatt am 23 Mai1864 Der Bürgermeister Ritzenthaler
Nachdem von dem ledigen Uhrmacher Peter Zipfel, geb. den 26 Juni 1846, Sohn des dahier verstorbenen Lehrers Bernhard Zipfel und der noch lebenden Cezilia geb. Willig dahier, vorgetragen wurde, daß er eine Reise nach den Nordamerikanischen Staaten vorzunehmen u. um den hierzu nöthigen Reisepaß bei Großh. Bezirksamt nachzusuchen beabsichtige, so hat man heute behufs Einvernehmung hierüber dessen Mutter Bernhard Zipfels Wittwe auf das Rathaus berufen. Dieselbe erschien und gibt folgende Erklärung ab:
"Ich habe gegen das Vorhaben meines Sohnes Peter Zipfel keinerlei Einwendungen zu machen und gebe demselben zu der von ihm beabsichtigten Reise nach Amerika meine Einwilligung"

kraft vorstehendes Protokoll mit dem ... vom Großh. Bezirks-Amt, dass diesseits der Ertheilung des betreffenden Reisepasses nichts im Wege steht.
