911 intersection; Co. Hwy. 17 (07000N) and Oregon Road (19750E)

Directions:
About a ½ mile south of this intersection is a
field road going east. At the end of this road is a tree line & creek.
Off to the south you can see a hill with pine trees, this is the cemetery.

        NJ obit states that he died in St, Louis and his body was returned to be buried
                in the Darter Cemetery, near the place where he was born. [NJ 6/7 1906]
        He was the son of Henderson and Eleanor Darter &
        was married to Amanda Norris on 8 Mar 1877.
        Children were :
                Lottie Gusfeldt, Nancy Zika, Fay & Emma Darter, John H. and James Preston Darter.

        Probate & death records reveal that his
                father was Henry Darter,
                sister was Angeline Shinall;
                niece was Alice L. Livesay.
                Other heirs were Flora A. Boehn, Victoria A. Brune, Kate Dill,
                H. C. Darter, Gard Darter, Viven Carter.
        The Last Will & Testament of
                John Wood Darter was admitted to probate on 5 Sept 1921.

        County records show that she was married, maiden name unknown.

        Her parents where Elza and Martha Jane (Harris) Huggins;
        Grandparents: Henry and Elizabeth (Curtis) Huggins.
        G-grandparents: William and Barbara (Darter) Huggins.
        Siblings: Clara Cordelia Huggins (William Smith), Rose Huggins (Joseph Jones)
                Stella Allie Huggins (Daniel Middleton), Charles Huggins & Anna Irene Huggins
        A half-brother; Roy Shinall
        GG-grandparents where Henry and Anna Darter.

        154th Ill. Inf. Co. I;
        d. 7 Jun 1891
        His obit (NJ 6/12/1891) states that he died at the home of his daughter,
                Mrs. Jeremiah Rice at Locust Creek, a pensioner of the Civil War.
                He & his wife, Nancy, were both born in TN, circa 1825,
                and among their children were Sarah J.; Charlotte Ann; & Delila Livesay.
        Robert & Nancy where married on 26 May 1842 in Perry Co. IL.

30. Livesay, Charlotte Ann;
        d/o R. B. & Nancy Livesay;
        d. 23 Jan 1852; age 6y 6m 11d
        Inscription on stone appears to be: Dau of R.B. & Nancy Livesay

        No stone found.
        Obit states he was buried 'near Bethel', in the Logan Cemetery.
                He died at the home of his son, L.C. Livesay, in Nashville, in Sept of 1906,
                age 79y 11m 10d. Born in TN Sept 19, 1826; settled SE of Nashville in 1830;
                married 21 Dec 1848 to Mrs. Elizabeth M. Logan Sanders
                by whom he had 8 sons & 1 dau: (known as)
                        Charles M., Corrington, Ivan, Carl, Fred, & Mrs. Emily C. Smith.
        He was remembered as one of Washington Co.s leading horsemen. [NJ 9/13/1906]

        Born Mary P. Darter, this lady was the wife of Capt. James Benson Logan.
