Chapel Hill Cemetery
Chapel Hill, community cemetery is located in Washington County, section 29, north of Du Bois crossroads along highway #51. It was once the the site of the residence of George Palmer who settled there in 1827.

Because it is a community cemetery and not associated with a church, some of the older people of St. mark's United Church of Christ Church expressed concern about the future of Chapel Hill. Since a number of their members are buried there, the Chapel Hill Cemetery Association was organized on May 14, 1964.

The present board members are : Lee Bowers, president; Walter Kramm, vice-president; Howard Johannes, secretary; Lester Porter, treasuruer.

Some of the grave sites from 1836-1897 are : Palmer, Tilley, Bridges, Nuedecker, Shadie, Reminger, Kuhn, Ruh, Schwind and Qualls.

At the south end of the cemetery, graves without stones include : Stewart, Williams, Brown, Jewell, Enderlee and Corgan
