The spiritual needs of Radom were first met by a missionary priest by the name of
Fr. Karol Kloke. He was residing in Du Quoin, and Bishop Baltes of the Alton Diocese
(which was the diocese of this region at this time) assigned Fr. karol to say Mass for the
people of Radom. Fr. karol did his missionary work within a 50 mile rdius of Du Quoin
and came to Radom once a year. Before the construction of a church, Fr. Karol said Mass
at the Bauer's home which was 1/2 mile north of the train station.
