Bucky's Historical Room
Wilbert J. "Bucky" McCoy
Historian - Genealogist

Ashley now has a Historical room attached to the Ashley Public Library.
It is known as :           "Bucky"s Historical Room"

We need a lot and have a lot.

On the walls are all the High School class pictures with the exception of 1923.
The School House Clock is available to tell time.

Some of the few things of interest :

  • The Ashley School house clock that graced the School hall for years is available to tell time
  • a bannister top that every one who attended the school has touched.
  • We have all graduating classes with exception of 1923.
  • We have all year books are available with exception of 1936.
  • The walls are covered with these afore mentioned school pictures.
  • A picture of D. W. Dawkins who started the Ashley Milk Company.

    Bucky is working on the details of the Ashley Candy Factory
    of which he was plant manager when it closed.

    For years he has written an item in the 'Ashley News' and many are historical in nature.

    Bucky does much with genealogy;
    and has a lot of material about the McKinzies and McCoys.
