Passenger List of Families
Ship Agnes -1848
This lead us to propose the idea that the families involved must have been friends before arriving at Plum Hill. However, the families involved were clearly members of different parishes (Pfarrbezirke) in Germany although they did all come from the administrative district of Wittlage. This leads us to posit the idea that they were part of a group traveling together, either on the Agnes, or one of the several ships arriving in New Orleans from Bremen towards the end of November 1848. A search of the shipping records for the November 27, 1848 landing of the Agnes has been made and we have found the following families represented:

If you have any information regarding these families at Washington County or wish specific information please contact me. I have a copy of the confirmation of Maria Wleike from the Kirchenbuch, Lintorf which indicates the September date of leaving the parish.(she was on the Agnes) It is identical with that for Christoph Heinrich Wulf. The family groups varied from 1 to 12. I will post the rest of the alphabet, S, T, U, V, Y and Z when available.Dave Wulfman
