Mrs. George Thaxton
Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Thaxton, whose death at the Bridget Hughes Hospital was briefly mentioned in last week's issue of the JOURNAL, was born in Nashvile Aug. 26, 1858, as the daughter of David E. and M.A. Jenkins and passed away after long suffering from Bright's Disease at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 14 days. She was married to Geo. W. Thaxton Feb. 7, 1875. Sixteen years ago the family removed from Nashville and during the past four years has resided at Carthage, Mo. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, four sons, David Elmer, Hugh Roy, John Thomas and Grover Thurman Thaxton, one sister, Mrs. Harriet C. Brown, one brother, Alfred M. Jenkins, and a nephew, Wm. B. Harl, whom she raised from infancy.
