Gene Wheeler in August of 2007 visited the cemetery and this is his pictures and description of the location of the cemetery….
It is exactly 0.3 miles west of Hwy 45, on the south side of
"Barnhill Road". There are signs on Rt. 45 at the road,
pointing to Barnhill and calling it the Barnhill Road. Actually, on the
map, it's County Road 200N, which I presume is a road two miles north of the
county line. Rt. 45 is 1900E.
There is a small church, red arrow, just west of the cemetery. It had no
name on it, but appeared to be active. At least, it was well kept up, and
there is a parking lot there. The "village" of Barnhill appears
to be defunct - only a couple buildings in disrepair. I note that Google
has Barnhill in the wrong location - on Rt. 45 at about CR 350N.
I marked the picture above showing the cemetery location (Yellow arrow). There is no sign there. As you look south from the road, immediately in front of you, there is a small depression in the cemetery, with a few headstones, all new. The rest of the stones are to the left, and then behind this depression. The cemetery is bounded on the east and west by a line of trees, the white lines in my markup. They narrow down to the back of the cemetery, where there are a few headstones.
I took an overall picture from the northeastern corner of
the grounds (just east of the depression), pointing toward the southwest and the
back of the cemetery. It's not very large.
The precise Geocode location of the cemetery is: 38.28493 Latitude,
-88.35838 Longitude.

The Barnhill Cemetery headstones were recorded two separate times, first in 1968 – 69 by the Wayne Prairie Chapter of the DAR and recorded in a book written by the Illinois Society, DAR which is posted on Heritage Quest. A second reading of the headstones was done in 1971 by Doris Ellen Bland and was published in her Wayne county Cemetery Inscriptions Vol. I Below is not a complete listing!
