Curry Cemetery is located at the corner of North Frist and Parkhurst Streets in Fairfield.  The Robert Wilson headstone (above) is engraved with weeping willows, which are a symbol of mourning.  Many of the stones in this cemetery have been moved, lost, or buried, because I remeber there being many more when I was a child.

I wanted to let you know of an addition to your cemetery database listing for Curry cemetery in Fairfield, IL. My great, great, grandfather is buried in Curry cemetery.  His name is Smith Butler (b.c. 1837), married to Mary J. Alexander (b. 1848) in 1867.  He was a Private in the Civil War and served in "H" company of the 56th Illinois Infantry. Attached is a photo of his headstone.  The stone is located in the center of the cemetery. I hope this information is helpful. Thanks, James "Pat" Butler  pbutler@insightbb.com
