BEHYMER-CLARK
Nathaniel Behymer, of Dyesburg, Tenn., was married to Miss Hester Clark of
Mill Shoals, Tuesday, by Judge Bonham in the public bridal chamber. They visited E. P. Thompson and left for their
new home Wednesday.

FUGATE-MORGAN
MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED
Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Morgan of 701 South 18th Street, announce the marriage of their daughter Juliet Ellen, to P.
Kendall Fugate of Murphysboro, Illinois, which occurred August 10, at Marion, Ky. The young couple were accompanied
by the bride's brother and sister-in-law, who married on the same date. Rev. R. H. Wade, pastor of the Marion,
Ky., First M. E. Church performed the ceremony. Mrs. Fugate is a graduate of the Mt. Vernon Township High School
and of the Southern Illinois Teachers College at Carbondale. She was formerly a teacher in Mt. Vernon City Schools.
At present she is a member of the faculty of Ashley Township High School. Mr. Fugate is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
J. C. Fugate of Carbondale. He is a graduate of Cairo High School and of the University of Illinois at Urbana.
He is employed as a divisional assistant in the engineering department of the Illinois Commercial Telephone Co.,
at Murphysboro.

HENSLEY-BELL
Through the medium of an advertisement in a local daily paper, Lee H. Hensley,
of Harrisburg Illinois, told that he was leading a dreary life for the want of a wife, and that he desired to get
married to some desirable woman. Mrs. Ned Bell, a widow of near Golden Gate, Illinois, read the article, became
interested in it and corresponded with the man. Without an interview the two agreed to meet in the newspaper office
on Tuesday, and to have a minister present to marry them. The couple met on the agreed date, and with the staff
of the newspaper as witnesses they were united.

MORGAN-CATES
The marriage of Euil Morgan of this city and Miss Shirley Jean Cates of Dahlgren was solemnized Saturday, August
10th at six p.m., in Marion, Ky. the Rev. R. H. Wade of the Marion Methodist Church was the officiating minister.
Mr. Morgan is the son to Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Morgan of this city. He graduated from the Mt. Vernon township high
school in 1928 and from the University of Illinois at Champaign in 1932. He is now teaching in Mt. Vernon city
schools. Mrs. Morgan is the daughter of Mrs. Hester Cates. She graduated from Opdyke Community High School, and
has been employed in the post office at Dahlgren.
MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER HELD FOR MRS. MORGAN
A surprise miscellaneous shower was given Monday evening in honor of Mrs. Euil Morgan, formerly Miss Shirley Cates
of Dahlgren. Two contest were conducted by Mrs. R. L. Martin and both were won by Mrs. Nana Goin. Fifty one were
present and Mrs. Morgan received many useful gifts. Ice cream and cake were served at the close of the evening.

POPULAR LOCAL COUPLE WED SATURDAY
Euil Morgan, Shirley Cates Married Saturday Evening In Marion, Kentucky
Euil Morgan of Mt. Vernon, and Miss Shirley Cates of Dahlgren, were united in marriage at 6 p.m. last Saturday
at Marion Ky. They were accompanied by the groom's sister and friend. Mrs. Morgan is the daughter of Mrs. Hester
Cates of Dahlgren. She is a graduate of Dahlgren and Opdyke High School and for the past four years has been employed
at the local Post Office. Mr. Morgan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Morgan of Mt. Vernon. He is a graduate of
the University of Illinois with a degree of B. S J. and a member of Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. He is a former editor
of the ECHO. After the ceremony, the young couple visited Evansville, returning here for a short stay while their
new home in Mt. Vernon is being prepared. Mr. Morgan is employed as a teacher at the Lincoln School in Mt. Vernon
in which system he has worked since 1932.
