Cornelius Lewis Organ
Died of Erysipelas, at his residence in this place, on Monday morning last, the 25th inst. Cornelius Lewis Organ, in the 41st year of his age.  The deceased was born in Wilson Co., Tennessee and moved here ten years ago.  (Was a business man, left a wife and seven children.) [The Fairfield Gazette, January 29, 1858]

H.A. Organ
Major Organ died in Cairo one day last week, and his body was received in this town on Friday last. This sad bereavement is a heavy blow to highly respected wife and family. [WAR DEMOCRAT, October 6, 1864]

Ollie Owen

Mrs. Ollie Owen, 50, wife of Sammie Owen, well known Fairfield barber, died at her home west of Fairfield at 10 p.m. Sunday after an illness of several months. She was born September 2, 1898, in Wayne county and spent her life here. Mr. and Mrs. Owen had no children. Funeral services were conducted from the Bailey church Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Guy Roney officiating. Interment was in the Bailey cemetery.

Mrs. Sammie Owen, 50, passed away at her home southwest of town Sunday following an eighteen months’ illness with cancer. She had been confined to her bed the past week. Funeral services were conducted from the Bailey church on Wednesday afternoon (today) at 2:00 o’clock by Rev. Guy Roney. Burial was in the Bailey cemetery. Mrs. Owen, daughter of Tillman Jones, was born in Wayne County on September 2nd, 1898. Surviving is her husband.  [1959 - Submitted by Peg Jones]
