GOLDEN WEDDING CELEBRATION IS A HAPPY OCCASION
Mr. and Mrs. H. Bushman, Esteemed Citizens, Honored by Many
Mr. and Mrs. Harlem Bushman, well known residents of Rock Falls, observed their golden wedding anniversary Thursday at the family residence, 709 First avenue. The children, grandchildren, relatives, a few neighbors and close friends, and a sister of Mrs. Bushman, Mrs. Henrietta Hamilton, of Canada, whom she had not seen for forty-six years, were present to give cheer to the occasion.
A sumptuous turkey dinner with all the trimmings was served at two large tables, one for the relatives and the other for friends and neighbors. Throughout the home a color scheme of gold was used. Streamers were festooned from the chandeliers to the corners of the rooms and pretty crepe paper shades covered the lights. Bouquets of paper chrysanthemums were also effectively used in decorating. The color scheme was carried out in the table decorations and as nearly as could be in the menu for dinner. Bouquets of yellow flowers formed the centerpieces for the tables. White carnations were the favors for the quests. During the dinner hour Miss Edna Peugh of Sterling sang sweetly “Silver Threads Among the Gold.”

In the afternoon an informal reception was held. A few friends and acquaintances called to extend their congratulations and best wishes on the happy occasion.
