Twenty-three Gathered At Home Today To Help In All Day Celebration.

Today marked a milestone in the long journey of life for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eads of Unionville, the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. At the Eads home today their children and grandchildren, 23 in number, gathered to honor the elderly couple in happy commemoration of the event which happened in Morrison 50 years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Eads were married by Squire Lane of Morrison, a justice of the peace, in a quiet ceremony which was as free from glamor and gild as the true and honest life which the couple has led. After the marriage of Miss (Luella) Shepherd of Fenton to Charles Eads of near Morrison the couple began farming, the occupation which they pursued until 14 years ago, when they moved to Unionville, where they now live.

While a farmer Mr. Eads lived in Rock Island County, Carroll county and Whiteside County. Mr. Eads was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Eads and was born Aug. 6, 1860, just west of Morrison. Mrs. Eads was born Feb. 14, 1864. in Newton township the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Shepherd.

They are the parents of the following children: Fred Eads of Fulton, Mrs. Sarah McGowan of Clyde Township, Mrs. Eva Shafer of Morrison and Roy Eads of Lyndon. There are 14 grandchildren. All of these were present for dinner today and to help in an all day and evening celebration of the golden wedding.

Many friends and other relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Eads called at the home in Unionville today to offer their best wishes for happiness. Flowers and gifts were also received during the day, with letters and calls, to make more happy the day which is a happy realization of their life together. The Sentinel extends sincere greetings to the couple and wishes them many more happy anniversaries.
