Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Garwick observed the 50th anniversary of their marriage Sunday [12/18/1927] afternoon at their home in Coleta when fifty of their friends and relatives were pleasantly entertained in two groups from 2 to 3:30 and from 3:30 to 5 o’clock. White and gold cake adorned with favors of gold bells, brick ice cream with gold trimming and coffee were served, followed by a happy season of reminisences and good cheer. The room was nicely decorated in cut flowers of white and gold chrysanthemums. They were remembered with many beautiful tokens and $40 in gold in honor of the event. Charles P. Garwick and Miss Barbara Ackerman were married Dec. 18, 1877, in Clyde township at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ackerman, and have lived in this vicinity ever since. They have been highly respected citizens of Coleta for the past thirty three years and have many friends here who wish them many more years of married life.
