ALBERT B. ALLEN

Albert B. Allen, a substantial farmer and prominent citizen of Lyndon, was born Nov. 18, 1826, in the town of Bennington, Erie Co., N. Y. When he was 17 years old he accompanied his parents (see sketch of George W. Allen) to Illinois, and he remained a member of the parental household until he became himself the head of a family. He was married Nov. 25, 1852, to Ann M., daughter of Alexander and Maria (Bumpus) Mann; she was born in Richland Co., Ohio. His father settled in the township of Rockville, Kankakee County, and he bought a tract of land adjoining the paternal homestead, where he was a resident until 1866, when he bought an improved farm in Iroquois County. After two years he came to Lyndon Township, where he bought land in company with his father. He has improved his property, and is now a leading agriculturist, owning 400 acres of land in most excellent agricultural condition, with valuable buildings suited to the variety of husbandry to which the farm is devoted. In political connection and views Mr. Allen is a Republican. Sophronia, Ida, May, Elmer, Maud, George, Sadie and Laura are the names of the children of Mr. And Mrs. Allen.
