Frank Cushing was born in Providence RI in 1819. He came with his mother to
Coloma in the spring of 1839, and settled on Section 30. November 10, 1841 he
married Miss Mary D Breed at Como, in Hopkins Township. Mr Cushing has been an
active citizen of the township. He was Justice of the Peace for twelve years and
Supervisor of Coloma in 1858-59 . In 1868 he removed to Portland Township,
Whiteside County, where he has since resided. Children: Benjamin F who married
Miss Addie Allen, and resides in Iowa; Mary Ann, dead; Frank, now in California;
Edmund J who married Miss Mary Pfulb and resides in California; Duna F; John J;
Henry S; William L B; Susan C and Emma L. The latter six reside with their
parents in Portland.
