Jacob Huffman and family came from Canada, and settled on the north side of Genesee Grove in 1837. He was a farmer; had 4 sons and 3 daughters. The oldest son and one daughter died in the Grove. The other children are still living, two in Whiteside county. The parents have been dead a number of years.
