James McMullen was born in Ireland. He came to Canada, and in 1837 settled in Genesee. He had a wife and 8 children. His wife died soon after his coming, and he sold out and returned to Canada. He married again, and after a number of years came back to Illinois, and settled in Carroll county. He is now living in Fulton, but has been an invalid for several years. He was an intelligent, enterprising man.
