Samuel Wressell was a native of Lincolnshire, England. After emigrating, he first settled in Canada. In 1838 he located in Clyde township, making his first claim on section 14. He afterwards took up the claim where Mr. Z. Dent now lives, the latter gentleman paying $100 for it. Mr. W. died at the age of 80 years. His wife died several years before him.
