Whiteside County Illinois
Anti-Liquor Petition 1913-14

This is pretty interesting. Its a petition that was filed by George A. Round, great-grandfather of Dan Hand who contributed this article. George Round had very strong feelings about the way people were drinking during his lifetime. He felt that it was "wrong" for people to spend all the money they made and sit in "saloons", leaving their families at home with no money for food or necessities. Dan also has in his possession an unsigned letter that Mr. Round received, stating how wrong "he" was in being involved with the petition drive.
