Michael Kircher of Whiteside County Illinois, "MAY" have been a brother. Michael died in April of 1866. He was married to Fredericka (Smith) Kircher. Fredericka remarried in August or September of 1866 to Christian Hartman, taking into the marriage a daughter by Michael, named Louisa. This Louisa was handicapped in some manner, mentally. Based on her Obit, she spent her last years in the State Hospital for the Mentally Feeble. (There was a Micael...age is questionable...some records state 11, I believe that to be incorrect...and the person in the graveyard near Jordan Illinois is the husband of Fredericka...Tommy Kircher)
There is a Michael J. Kircher, aged 11 years 1 month 7 days buried in Maple Ridge Cemetery Row # 3. His date of death is listed as April 10, 1866. Note: It's curious that BOTH boy and his father died in April of 1866. Speculations.....two accidents.....both died of a disease...or there is a mistake in the death date of one or both Michaels. As of November 2002, have concluded that this age of Michael is in error, it should be 31 or 41.
Michael's widow Frederica remarried to a Mr. Hartman on August 11, 1866. Both were members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Hartman had been a resident of the county for 47 years, Mrs Oltman Kircher Hartman had been a resident for 46 years. Frederica was the daughter of Frederick and Rosina (Oltman) Smith. By her former marriage, (to Michael) Mrs. Hartman had one daughter, Louisa.

"Mr. Fred Kercher, a respected farmer of Wea township, breathed his last the 3rd mst., after a brief but painful illness. He was a quiet neighbor and a valuable citizen; and we mourn with his family who are left to battle with the storm of adversity."
Page 234, col. 2, under William Robert and Mary Ann Kircher, written by Hazel Kircher, it states, in part... "They came in January, 1873 to a farm in Wea Township, Miami County where they made their permanent home." "They" being Frederick, Louisa, and the children William, Henry J. , Charles Fredrick, Louis W. and Albert Phillip. TK
The Final Certificate of Naturalization of Frederick Kircher... was issued on January 23, 1866 in Morrison, Whiteside County Illinois. The presiding judge was William W. Neatono....(really hard to read the handwriting..so spelling is in question) In this Naturalization Frederick renounced all allegiance to the King of Wuertemberg. This document was witnessed by James Dinsmoor and John Wolfensperger....(writing is, again, difficult)
I have the death certificates of two of Fredericks sons, Albert Phillip, and Louis Weber (until receipt of this death certificate I only had the initial W to go by. Alberts death certificate states his mothers maiden name was HIX. Louis' death certificate has the spelling as Lewis, not Louis....and that HIS mothers maiden name was WEBER !!!!!!!! This certificate was filled out by his second wife I think....I'm not sure how much she knew, she could be in error about Webber's mother's maiden name.)
